Re: Female Personal Hygiene
im moody. not good. i have a masjid carnival that im supposed to go to today. i really want to, but i need to straighten out my mood first. and for some reason every few minutes i hear it drizzling, though the sun is out. houston can be weird at times. im totally ranting. sigh. maybe its cuz i havent had breakfast yet because the minute i walked into the kitchen i saw it a mess. it really annoyes me that i clean up and then when i go back in i see it a mess. i dont understand how hard it is to pick up ur plate from the table and put it in the sink....or to not scatter plates all around the counter as if ur too lazy to walk 2 MORE steps to teh sink and do some armwork to put it inside it. sigh. having brothers and 2 lazy sisters that use the "ill be doing everything when u get married anyway, might as well relax now" line on u every time you ask them to clean up afterthemselves. sigh. ive come to the point where im ready to blow. up. im beyond annoyed right now and i do not wanna be home. but i have to "take care of all responsiblities aka clean up" before i leave the house to go enjoy my life.
[/end rant.....i think.]
oh and salika, i thought the same thing last night after posting that....its probly a ploy and u just need to use SPF15 when giong out in the sun and moisturize ur skin and keep it clean and drink water adn work out and yada yada yada yada so it doesnt go all whack. but yeah...here's something that was true though: if you totally rely on SPF15 in foundations to work, then you shouldnt because sunscreen is most effective when applied directly to the skin. when its in makeup, ur using a moisturizer underneath most likely so it just becomes a little layer ABOVE the moisturizer, therefore, not protecting it. and also, since its mixed in with other chemicals that layer ur skin and not absorb into it, it doesnt help. so use spf15 moisturizer before applying makeup, and dont spend that much on a foundation that says it has spf15 in it because chances are, ud sitll need a sunscreen underneath.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Ok girls I need some serious real heavy duty skin care advice. Does anyone have an experience with peels? I'm not talking about those really intense glycolic acid peels, I don't want anything harsh.
Alhamdulillah my face is finally clearning from this bout of bad acne, It's pretty much all "flattened" out but it's still pretty red. The thing is, this weekend I'm going to my fiance-husband-man's community and am going to meet looots of new people and the spotlight is going to be on me obviously. As much as I enjoy it and all, I don't want to look crappy
Is there a gentle peel that can help get red of this top layer of redness? I'm not expecting a miracle, I know this takes time but I just want to speed up the healing process a bit. Remember, this is less than a week from now so I can't really have much down time. I just need something that will move things along so at least when I cover it with make up it's well, easier to cover.
I know Sephora has tons of these kinds of products, has anyone tried any of them? Like natural fruit acid peels? Do they work (again, not expecting a miracle)? Irritate? I'd go to Sephora and just ask their peeps but half the time, I don't think they really know what they're talking about and I want unbiased opinion.
Thanks

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Salika: Once a few years ago (before I had bad breakouts) I used this two-step peel system from Mary Kay but I dont remember the name exactly. One was a white jar and the other was a gray jar and you'd use one, wait 5 minutes and use the next one. I did it every night before going to bed. At the time I had regular average breakouts with not that many spots but I remember it making my skin much much smoother with less spots. Other than that I have never used peels except for getting one at the salon only once (it hurt sooooo bad ).
----
Okay so I need some tips from anybody who knows anything about traveling. I am trying to book a 3-night trip to NYC for two people. I am checking travelocity, expedia and priceline.com and trying to find the best price for a flight + hotel deal. I don't need a fancy hotel (clean and comfortable is fine, doesn't have to be Hilton or anything) and I need a flight leaving on a Thursday afternoon and returning Sunday. Good location would be nice too.
Can anyone give me any tips for a reasonable price range? So far I'm getting anywhere from $400 to $900/person for roundtrip flight + hotel and I'd rather stay on the lower-priced end of the spectrum.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
my advice would be to just give your skin a break for a while... thats the only thing that's worked for me in situations like that...

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
300 per person for flight and 100-200 per night for hotel ( if staying in manhattan) is normal
