Re: Female Personal Hygiene
question-- so if you take birth control pills (FOR ACNE, DAMMIT), and they drastically alter the length of your original period... once you discontinue using them, what happens?
is everything supposed to return to just what it had been like before the pill?

It could or couldn't. My friend had irregular periods for years, took bcps for a few months and it straightened out but that could have just been a coincidence. Eh.
I agree, where's Buinrab when you need her?!

What I was taught, both in school and by my dad, that once you're off it shouldn't have an effect. You need to maintain it daily so when you stop, your body beings to produce its own hormones again.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Sorry, my spidey-sense is broken.
Anyway, the first rule is always that bcps have different effects on different women.
Beyond that, yeah, theoretically, the pills should "normalize" your cycle to whatever cycle the brand uses. There really shouldn't be any spotting between periods once you've had a few cycles of the pills. After discontinuing them, your body should return to its normal cycles, although it's certainly possible that after long enough, your body could get used to particular pattern and stick with that after discontinuation.
Progesterone only pills (and the depo shot, which is also progesterone only) can give you significant bleeding between periods.
That's the short story. More questions?

assalamu alaykum
yeah, the effects of Progresterone. I've read conflicting things on it, some say it enhances aggression and others that it's like a form of sedation??

i was craving toasted bagel w/cream cheese, so i took a trip to Dunkin Donuts. The lady i think used the entire cream cheese tub on my bagel..wth?? all i see is cream cheese and not the bagel. she ruined it, that's not how i pictured in my head it would be.
my pregnacy tracker:
My mommy's uterus is almost the size of a grapefruit, which she'd like to throw at daddy at right about now. i'm 10 weeks and 6 days old, only 204 days to go.

My fiance is really tough to get gifts for... any ideas? I've already gotten him a shirt, colonge, a picture of us in a picture frame, a book, he's kind of picky and already has lots of stuff.

how about a gift card to his favorite store in town? depends whats he's interested in...a pass to play golf? tickets for two to a racing show?
or you can simply settle down for a good old watch...
hope that helps.
