Madinah was so so so amazing subhan Allah, we're going again insha Allah! We ran on very little sleep and food and didn't notice , subhan Allah. We went into hibernation as soon as we got back (mr.zze came back and slept between classes lol) and now we're gonna EAT. We had the best breakfast ever at some hotel, oleye or orleye or something, no idea...but we had fruit and salad and cheese and omlette and cake and juice and cold meat and everything our hotel was full of iranians and for some reason the breakfast was 'iranians only'. Wherever we went (hotels/shops/masjid) people were like 'irani? turki? sooori?'' and then they wouldnt believe mr.z when he told them he wasnt lol.

big eye ache rant, i know im excited. so madinah is like majority iranian atm. the-only-one - ziyarah is at 6:30am, but go at 7am or later for 1001 reasons Really cant wait to go back to madinah, it's really beautiful, and it has CULTURE.
\ok bye..

It's SOO wonderful that you got to go. I remember when we went. Same thing Iranians everywhere. I had some really wonderful experiences in the masjid. First day I was there I was quite dissoriented (2 days of travel to get there on no sleep, jet lag etc) and I just wanted to sit in the masjid forever. I found this old Arab lady, she was reciting Quran and I wanted her to help me (I can recite, but I'm really slow and bad) she was soooo sweet. She just sat and recited next to me following with her fingers. I was trying to ask her the time, but dumb me I couldn't remember what I learned in my Arabic class to ask time (and it's like one of the first lessons we learned). She found one of the lady police who was all "You need to use the bathroom?" I said "No, I wanted to know the time, see if it's sunrise yet so I can pray" she was totally surprised. I don't know if it's becuase of my English or what. She told the old lady, and the lady just started kissing me cheecks!

Next day we went I said my fajr next to some ladies from Dubai (knew they were from Dubai before they told me, they were so stylish ) and they helped me recite as well. They were sooooo patient with me and all my mistakes (confusing noon for baa etc) then I went back to the hotel for an hour, and wanted to visit the rawda. I found an Indian lady about my age who was also going so I walked with her. It was SOOOO crowded, MOSTLy with Iranians! I got really shocked with all those ladies around me. I think the Indian lady saw I was confused she just told me, you make two rakats, and go. I was just standing dazed. All these ladies were just pushing and pushing me, I couldn't get any space. Then the lady police, she actually closed the area for about a minute, just told me in her bad english, "make 2 rakats, that's it" so I did, all by myself in that area. If was so nice, beucase I could actually concentrate without all these ladies pushing me feet, trying to knock me over and things.

I know that people really harp on the Saudi's about how they are trying to destroy so many historical places. However, I saw sooo many people doing lots of questionable things, things that kind of border on shirk, that I can't really blame them.

I loved it sooo much. I wish I could go back.

assalamu alaykum

chotoo- awww. your experiance of Madinah sounds beautiful masha Allah, there really is no other place like it. Insha Allah you'll get to go back again! I'm going to post the pictures on FB iA, check it out. A really nice Iranian lady asked me if i was iranian, i said no and told her where i was from, then she asked me to make dua for her...she seemed like a really warm person mA. I know what you mean about the rawda - it was shocking, and the mutawwa women were doing the best job they could in trying to control the people, but it was crazy subhan Allah. Did you go to the graves and the battlefield and everything? We didn't have enough time this visit as we intended to pray every salah there, but we saw masjid Quba on the way out, and a really old mosque. alhamdulilah

the only one - i think it's every day, they open the doors at 6.00-6.30am. They divide everyone into their home country groups. I went with syria at first as i'd come from riyadh so i didn't have a group, then egypt as i decided the ladies were better built and i'd have better protection but then the doors opened so i just went...nezxt time i'll definitely go half an hour to an hour later as it'll be MUCH quieter then. I think people cant be bothered going back to their hotels after fajr so they just sit there and sleep till it's time for the ziyarah. A few people have told me it's open until 11am for women, but i can't verify that. The iranians are the ones that get in first...and are the pushiest (as well as the turkish!) so stay WELL behind. It's funny as mr.z helped me idetify the iranians ''they either look like my dad or the president'' lol.

I'm not sure when i'm going to be in madinah next, but insha Allah HOPING to go to makkah next week iA, we have to book the plane tickets iA. What dates are you in Makkah?

edit: i forgot to mention...madinah is great for hijab/jilbab shopping. Look at what hijabs street salespeople are selling before going to the shops as they're often in packets and half the price. I bought loads of hijabs and 2 jilbabs for a fraction of the price, IA next time I'll have more than half an hour to shop . Need to get more hijabs and jilbabs to last me a while as UK jilbabs and hijabs are rubbish. madinah

i had the weirdest and most awkwardly emotional day today.

i was at work. i was in a horrible mood. i had to go lock myself in the washroom for a half hour to cry. and then i was okay....

and now, im not so okay again.

Sumiyia: That must be really irritating to deal with. iA khair, things will sort out

Jaani: May Allah provive you with the best of both worlds. ameen.

zzze: see your repp comment. Dont forget to make dua for the rest of us, iA

Heba: That sucks, cheer up

Safia: do it, but be very, very careful as to where exactly you want it. It looks bad even if its slightly too low/too high. I had mine done- it was on the perfect spot, but it closed later. When i had it re-done, the woman did it too low and I had no choice to get rid of it. Hmm, maybe I'll crop and post a pic or something. I'd like to get it done again, I just dislike the initial stud they put in (way too big and UGGFUGG) and thats the only thing stopping me

ameen and may Allah subhwatallah invite us all to His house. sometimes, things just happen when you least expect. and you can have no control over it, my trip is one of those beautiful works of naseeb. Allahu Akbar!!

:sign: before all this, i kept dreaming about Kabah and Medina. I'd talk /ponder how it'd be to pray fajr at haram e sharif and wake up for tahhajud. I could only image the tranquility it'd bring to my heart and fill my life with blessings. Just thinking about it, would bring tears to my eyes. shortlyafter, my friends started calling me 'majnoona'/'pagal' but i could care less, i still shared my dreams and thoughts with them. Later, they confessed they wanted to come with me after there visit to homeland. they're in dubai right now, but they might join me at the medina. inshaAllah.

holla.

talemul_haq: i pray that u go there soon inshaAllah. and may Allah swt fill your married lives with tons of beautiful days. ameen.
