You hear stories of people being kidnapped, but never realise how it truly is until it happens to someone you know.

My time here in NYC has made me realize that this corporate life is not for me, and I am doubting whether I can do law school. Maybe an MA at the most, but 3 years of crap school and then having to prove myself able for a few years after that is not my cup of tea at this point. Neither is corporate America, the cubicles, the petty office politics, the kissing of corporate booty, snidy, overweight, insecure #$%$#&#& as bosses, and so on.
I'm also tired of smelling like the subway....the polluted air down in Wall Street, the intricate annoyances of having to deal with NY every day...I love this city so much and always will, but I am tired of living here.
FYI: I work 10-11 hours a day in a huge law firm, so I'm just not complaining for whatever...
I physically can't do this anymore...what good is money if you're too ill to enjoy it?
In other words: I bought a suped up Dell Inspiron 1525 the other day Mabrook for me
And going to Middle East for the wedding of my sister in August, it will be my first time in 10 years! And honestly not looking forward to it, I really despise the area....but whatever, at least I can try to learn Arabic maybe.
Hope you guys are ok, I'm becoming a passing visitor here now on Islamica lol...I can't log in from work, and it's difficult to find time to sit at home on weekends to check up.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Please ladies, for those of you who don't get out of FPH, please make dua for my friend.

His wife is mentally unstable, and is really causing her daughter psychological trauma in an attempt to "protect her" from her father. It's all in her head, even CPS knows that, but since she has physical custody of the child, no one is doing a damn thing. I'm soo upset about this.

Inshallah he can get himself some good legal counsel, who will be able to build up a cohesive case against this woman and her retarded ways. Hope they have witness testimonies, evidence of abuse, and all the weirdness surrounding this. That's the only way he'll make it, given that he is an immigrant and this woman is not...unfortunately, bias will play a role, we cannot pretend it won't...but if his case is extremely strong and basic,it will help him tremendously...I suggest he documents everything that goes on, even small events... and documents everything he remembers from the past.
Inshallah khair for this poor family

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
im dead. by my dad. tonight. :gulp;
i scraped the side mirror of my car with the metal gatecode box. first time ever. and its with my 6 month old brand new 2008 nissan sentra. im dead im dead im dead.
i need to talk to my brother and have him take a look at it and somehow rush it to the auto shop and pray and hope they wont overcharge me (id take my brother with me. last time they tried to overcharge me by telling me a windshield wiper was 20 bucks more than what they told my dad. i was like "uhm, im sorry but the going rate is $20 under what u just told me. if u ask me to pay that much, im out. ill find another person" what do they think, us women are stoopiiid in the head?
anyhow. i need to do all this somehow before this week is up and pray my dad is too tired to notice anything when he walks by my car. or pray that the lights on the street all go out. hah! DUAS NEEDED MUCH LADIES!
or...i could just admit to it. and get lectured at and have him shake his head and give me the "ur-21-and-have-been-driving-for-a-while-now" lecture.
bahhhhhhhh!

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Jazakallah khair everyone for the duas. I really appreciate it.
His family and the whole extended family is very upset. He is the only son. They made some pretty scary/crazy threats on the phone, threats that they didn't even tell the Mother. The 'deal' is still going on. They demanded some high amount, I'm not sure if they're going to bargain or my Uncle will somehow give it. I hope they're at least treating him right.
