Life is tough...

On another note, I set up two old friends of mine and now they're getting married next year So sometimes my hookups do work...lol.

On a serious note, if my cat is pregnant, would anyone like a kitten? I would normally sell them (they can go for $500 each, my cat I got for $300) but I wouldn't here. I live in the NYC area though...will post again if she really is preggers...wa salam
why didn't you just get her spayed if her getting pregnant is such a hassle?

I'm taking my kitty everywhere I go. where I go, kitty goes. he's like..my son.

Yup, mine's my baby. He's my everything, literally. I don't know what I would do without him. Just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes.

im getting a furball soon inshallah ...i cant wait! I love kittens but I've always had a soft spot for older cats. Kittens go fast at the shelter anyway and those older cats stay there their whole lives and never get a home, somebody should give them one.

I have such a mental block. I'm only half way through my take-home exam. Sure, it's not due until Wednesday, but I need to study for my other exam as well! Death to take-home exams!!!

Why do so many people cheat on their husbands/wives? Why do they stay married? why must they continue to hurt their spouse? Why do they do it in the first place? It would be better, in my humble opinion, if someone who knows they're going to cheat leaves their husband/wife and then does it. It's better than the pain of betrayal but I've never been in that situation so I wouldnt know (and inshallah I never will).

I feel so sad.. my faith in humanity is going down the drain at the realization of how many people truly betray their spouses, molest their kids or other innocent family/friends etc etc. I pray for myself and for everyone else who reads this that we will never have to deal with an unfaithful or abusive spouse. May Allah protect us from that, ameen.

Well, people are weak, they make mistakes, sometimes really big mistakes. People stay married because they figure it's better to be married than be single.

I think more people should go to marriage counseling.

But what about those that completely betray their spouse and throw away decades of marriage?

I know one case where the husband left his wife of 25+ years (who is very very sick with diabetes and multiple back surgeries) to marry some old tramp he had dated in high school (who had never been married). The kids (both in their 20's) were still traumatized despite having lives of their own. In another case two people have been married 50+ years and the wife has been cheating for over 20 with the husband's knowledge. He loves her very much and hasn't/wont do anything about it.

It's such a sick twisted world

Yeah, I've seen cases like that as well. A dear friend of my mom's had 6 kids, and left her own education to support her husband while he became an oral surgeon. He left her for his dental assistant. It was really aweful. You would think that a guy wouldn't let his actions be controlled by his desires rather than his brain, especially when he had 6 beautiful kids and a super hot wife, but obviously not. People are weak, they make all kinds of bad decisions. They act on impulse and don't think of the consequences, or they don't care. People can be really selfish too.

I'm not trying to say it's right. You just asked why people do it.
