Be prepared for anything. I said this to Qudsia - after my sister had her baby (and Islamica knows the story behind that) I really found a new respect for motherhood, pregnancy, and how it truly is a blessing from Allah Swt. Really, if you are worried about it and your doctor kind of brushed your concerns off with an "OK", you may want to call him or her back and ask a few questions. If it will give you peace of mind or help you better understand what is going on, then ASK. Don't be shy - its your body and your health. Btw, if you have a c-section, please, please please make it a point to ask the nurse or someone for an ace bandage/belt thing to wrap around your waist/stomach area. It reduces swelling etc .

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
I went to sephora and bought some mascara and other make up items. I kinda lost them, but low and behold, my 17 year old sister stole them! she was wearing it the whole time, and I even SAW her applying it but never thought the kid would do that. It made my eyes look so pretty though.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
salam
i have a question that you girls might be able to help me with. its purely hypothetical, but lets say you were gonna get married to somebody whose family is from the same country as yours and somebody suggested the idea of having the wedding back home. The cons are that some of your friends couldnt attend, the pros are that all your family from over there could come and the wedding would be much fancier, better attended, better catered, etc. Why is it that most girls seem to be so dead set against that idea?
u have a great night, ws

I think part of it has to do with the fact that the girl wouldnt have total control over planning her wedding..being in a different country she wouldn't be able to do things her way or on her own she would have to rely on others to take her places, show her things, etc. Not only that but being back home everyone is going to want to add their two cents to how the wedding should be (it happens here too but I can see it being 10x worse back home)

ditto ...it becomes more like the whole family's wedding rather than her own and her hubby-to-be's....and if u dont let those relatives pitch in their idea and use it up, they go crazy on you lol...but yah i think caramel has a great point. the girl basically has to depend on others to take her shopping, to get stuff done, to show her around...even in choosing the hall to get married in she might not have her own choice cause everyone would want to pitch in their own ideas.

Another factor might be the tickets. Going back home can cost easily up to 1400 .. per immediate family member and if you're working with a tight budget, it becomes impossible to spend that much on tickets plus the actual wedding expenses!

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
plus, for girls, friends are a big deal. And unless you're uber-rich and can pay for a bunch of tickets, she's going to be basically friendless for all the festivities.
