Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Ok girlies. I'm getting ready for the job fair. I'm highly anxious and my stomach is in some serious knots (that's also where all of my "nerves" are). Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone for their duaas and their support. Alhumdulillah, many of you made me feel a lot better. Please continue to make duaa. JazakAllah .
(I have to spread rep to many of you .)

I think the software in your phone can corrupt. Supposedly that happened to my cell phone and when I had the numbers transfered, the corruption transfered. Well at least that's what VZN told me .

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
thanks salika, that was really informative
also, if something down there is way off in terms of whatever is "normal" for you, it couldn't hurt to go see a doc and they can do a simple swab test. even if it's not a yeast infection, it could be bacterial vaginosis (which has various symptoms) and that's definitely not treatable with over-the-counter yeast infection meds. though what other posters have said is true, wear cotton undies, don't use strong soaps down there, no tight jeans etc. and eat yogurt!
btw -- i know it's obvious, but self-medicating with different creams if you aren't sure what's wrong is definitely not the way to go! it could make things more uncomfy.

No it's kind of like an at home laser treatment (but it doesn't use laser, it's a certain type of heat). Using it over a period of weeks and it's supposed to reduce hair density. They sell it at sephora...

I have that problem with my husband as well.. I'm 30 weeks now and we still haven't bought anything major yet, heh. but the way I handle him is to give him the basics of what we're going to need and then I shop around myself, compare prices, etc. he's slowly been warming up to going baby shopping with me now though.
and since we're talking about pregnancy stuff (sometimes I think we should make a separate pregnancy thread so we don't bother all the rest of the fph-ers with preggo talk), have any of the islamican moms dealt with not wanting their mom in the delivery room with them? my mom expects to be there in the room with me (her mom was there with her), and I'm really not comfortable with that. I don't mind if she's there for the early stages, but not for the actual labor and delivery part. however, last time we talked about this, she got upset and was starting to make me upset, so I just changed the subject and said it was too early to talk about it. any advice?

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
I remember asking my mom how it was when she had me and she was like "I thought I was constipated" haha so that sort of made me feel better about it. The baby itself is worth all that though. Babies are sooo cute...just make my heart melt

The blades are heat blades, not like razor blades. Ya, insha'Allah in a couple of more weeks I'm going to post a full review, just waiting for more results (and uh, finish my finals), but ya, it seems to be working.

I've been told that in the old days, they used to give women an enema during the early stages of labor to prevent that problem. Not sure why they stopped though. Seems like a good idea.

It's just a sit down and talk sort of thing. Maybe the other pregnant ladies have had this experience, I've never been to an ob/gyn.

I think that's fairly standard with private practice ob/gyns. They recognize that it's hard to think of much else when you've got your legs in stirrups and are exposed to the world.
As far as who's in the room...I think it's fairly standard these days for the guilty male to be in the room. I've seen a lot of mothers present, very few mils, can't think of a single fil being in the room. I think hubby and mother is a good combo - yell at hubby, cry to ammi. Word to the wise though...never let a woman in labor hold your hand, you might emerge with a few broken bones.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
that's all. okay that's not all. I HATE FEELING LIKE A DRAMA QUEEN. but this really sucks. i'm slowly realizing i can't trust myself to make certain life impacting decisions and i feel sort of stupid, naive, and not mature enough for my age. i think i have an inferiority complex everybody else my age is SOOO much more smooth. or so they seem.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Ok so I uhh *takes deep breath* decided to stop wearing foundation.
I think I finally found a product that's going to clear up my skin. It's this brand called Alpha Hydrox. It's more for wrinkles but whatever, a lot of the wrinkle products work for acne (like retinoids). Anyway, they have this alpha hydroxy "souffle" and it got rave reviews and so I got it and after two weeks, my face looks calmer (for lack of a better term?), some of the stuff is really clearing up, and sorry to be gross but considering the conversation we just had... it seems as though my pores are "purging." Beta hydroxies (ie, salicylic acid) have done JACK for my face and sometimes just made things much worse. Alphas seem to be doing a much better job. Since the souffle is working out really well, I ordered the cleanser and the retinol but so far so good. But the makeup, even mineral, is only going to hinder. I'll probably just dab it where I need (bc uh I still need it!) on the places that I really should cover up.
So ya, bismillah.

I used to feel that way a lot (and I still do sometimes). This is despite the fact that people tell me I'm raelly mature for my age and I'm thinking "weren't you there when I did that really stupid thing?"... everyone does dumb things and if you pay attention to people's actions more closely you'll notice it more. It's how you play it off really.
