He will have to have gallbladder surgery as soon as he is stable (possibly a few months) but his lungs are better and his heart is improving alhamdulillah.
My grandma who is 71 has refused to go to work for the last week since grandpa's been in the hospital. She had a breakdown at the hospital on Thursday because she was so stressed and refused to sleep and stayed in my grandpa's room 24/7. Since Friday they have been asking her to go home at night and my cousin and mom have to go up there every evening and make sure she goes home and gets sleep. First thing in the morning she's calling going, "who's taking me to the hospital today?" My grandparents (mom's parents) have been married for 50+ years and they've been through a lot. They got married really young (my grandma was 18, grandpa was 20) and they've been through a lot together.
When I was standing next to my grandpa's bed my grandma said something that was just.. . She mouthed to me over his head, "we almost lost him" (like 3 times during surgery alone ) and then she kissed his hand looking like she was going to cry and quietly said, "I dont know what I'd do without him, he's my life" and grandpa nodded too. The entire time I was there, except for lunch in the cafeteria, she refused to sit and stood by his bed holding his hand
OMG don't do it yourself!!!!! You're pregnant! If I hear that you did it yourself I'm coming over there to beat you up myself
I am totally in the same boat as you.
I know at least 3 girls (they were 20/21-ish when I was 17 and are now around 25) who felt it was "natural" to get pregnant when they were in their last semester or fourth semester etc and they all regret it. One of them is like "I spent so much time on my computer science degree, worked for 6 months (while pregnant) and now I sit at home on my butt all day or follow my kid around. That's my life." They love their kids of course but they always tell me to wait and enjoy school, a job, my marriage...before I give it all up to run around after a couple of kids all day long. I am sure there are people who would rather do that than other things but my attitude and opinion towards it is the same as these girls' and inshallah I intend to learn from their experiences.

Masha'Allah what a beautiful story!! I love to see older couples who are like that. I hope me and hubz are like that. But I don't want to think about that now
Anyways, I feel you on the baby thing. You can have babies but you can't undo having babies. I personally do feel a tad rushed because of my husband's age. By the time I'll get my LLM I'll be 24 and probably by the time the baby is born, like 25? My husband is 10 years older than me... so he'll be 35. I don't want my kids in diapers and he's like 60, ya know? Then again, a year or two isn't going to make all that of a difference in terms of his age but it would for my fulfillment. Alhamdulillah he's always supporting me in what I want to do (even it means living away for a year for a program, which I would never do, living away that is) and he's not mentioned once mentioned when I should have kids and he's even told me it depends on my career paths and he's largely going to leave the decision up to me when to start.
Besides that though, even though I'm young I've lived a pretty active life doing tons of stuff. Last night I was just talking to my husband about all the stuff I want to do before we have kids. I think 1-3 years after marriage is a good range but I guess we'll play it by ear.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
My ticker won't work It keeps telling me invalid URL in the image section but when I type it it works Mods?
Anyways, I got some beauty tips that I've discovered and looowe so I thought I would share
Ingrown hairs
Ah, the dreaded ingrown hairs. A month ago they were one of my biggest problems but I've learned to manage them and it's not that difficult really. The key word: exfoliation. Every day I exfoliate in the shower with a body brush. That's good for maintanence but to get rid of them you need to use an alpha hydoxic acid. My derm recommended this lotion called amlactin. It's really for people with kerotin psorlisis (I know I totally butchered that) but it has 10% lactic acid which helps a great deal with exfoliation inside the pores, not just the surface. It's a tad pricey but a little goes a long way and in the long run, for not getting ingrown hairs it's worth it I think. Apply twice a day (morning and night) For maintance, I just use it as theh hairs are coming in.
Also, if you want to epilate, do it after a shower. That was ALL I needed to get rid of them for when I epilate below my knees (above my knee was another mystery). Yes, it sounds too simple, but really it does wonders. I also heard that applying witch hazel, which closes pores and soothes the skin, after hair removal also helps though I have no tried it myself.
Frizzy/dry hair
I had this problem after I damaged hair with the dyes (remember that? ) Conditioners were okay but one thing I did was not wash my hair as often with shampoo. I think that's obvious for a lot of girls, but not for me What REALLY did it though was applying just a few drops of jojoba oil after a shower while my hair is still wet. Really, just a few drops, too much will make your hair oily. Just put it around your hair and comb it. My hair's texture has improved immensely and it's so much softer and looks healthier. Some great things about jojoba oil is that it's pretty cheap, a little goes a long way, it's very light, it's the closest oil that resembles our natural oils, and what's really important, at least for me, is that it has no smell. I don't like hair products that smell.
So I hopes that helps some of your woes. If you guys try these out, let me know how it works
I also think I have something for acne, but I'm going to hold off on that until I see more results with what I'm doing now.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Awww Jelly I'm so sorry, khair insha'Allah.
Can you go to a library or a friend's house? Or a cafe like Barnes and Nobles? I do that sometimes and it helps.
When I was coming back from the store and walking in the hallways of my apartment, I heard this woman screaming from one the apartments then a bang then quiet. I had to walk through that area again a minute later but this time I heard a man screaming too then the woman yelling back and bangs here and there. It was rather disturbing. Hearing that stuff literally makes me cry and I can't stand it. I would hate if there were a child in there. It's so traumatizing. So I called security and told them on. I hope nobody got hurt

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
jelly, maybe u should go to the library?
the more you try to focus in a loud place, the longer it'll take for you to get ur work done.
Is clear skin really that much to ask for?

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
thanks for the suggestions guys . Problem is I'm "back home" now so there's really no place I can go out and study like I can when I'm back on campus at my uni...oh well, alhamdulillah it's more quiet now. My mom woke up and convinced them to go out for putt-putt...I hope they leave soon!

And thanks [ ] for the tips regarding ingrown hairs. They're on my hit list forever . I get em regardless of what hair removal method I use.

Having babies is a mutual decision between spouses. If one is not ready, its alright, especially women who have careers of their own. But i agree, deff. enjoy life how ever you want to before having babies.
