Thanks guys.
But PhDgirl is right. The unsuspecting masses are safe...for now.

Ya, I did kickboxing in undergrad and it was mostly girls and that really helped reach my goal. It was mostly girls in the class which I like. The occassional guy would come try but they always looked pretty silly (it's funny, most of them can't even throw a proper punch). I don't like working out with men around though. I'm a less self conscious and I feel the sisterhood, as cheezy as that may be. I also noticed that spinning has mostly (or all?) women. Actually, unless there's a competetion like in a sports like basketball or soccer, I hardly find men in those group workouts and I'm talking about at the university so it's really open to everyone. That's interesting.
And congrats bruinrab, must be exciting!!!

Yeah, and you gotta develop a strategy for brushing your teeth. You REALLY need to brush your teeth now, but it makes me throw up half the time. The only thing I found helped with that is brushing my teeth on an empty stomach. That way even if I throw up, I don't have to eat all over again (thus necessitating ANOTHER round of teeth brushing)

asvi -
chootoomotoo - how are you feeling? how's the pregnancy going?
yea, just to add my two cents in.. I lived off ginger ale and 7up. those two things helped settle my stomach when I was too nauseous to eat anything.
also, no one told me about this, but what i noticed with myself is that if I allowed myself to get hungry/have an empty stomach, the sickness was SO much worse. even though you might not feel like eating anything, nibble on something (I loved wheat thins) so that you don't allow yourself to get hungry.
eat whatever you feel ok about eating, even if it's not the healthiest (advice from my doc and other veteran moms).
and yea, brushing my teeth was bad for me too, I never found something that helped with that, heh.
but yea, beyond the ginger ale and 7up, nothing really helped for me either. just remember that even though it doesn't feel like it, the morning sickness eventually WILL go away. inshAllah.

I'm feeling okay, things are going okay. My husband is extremely protective of me these days, which I think is really sweet. Still can't brush my teeth without gagging, still get queasy sometimes, but alhamdulillah, I think things are going okay. Unfortunately, I still just look fat, not pregnant.

It's not the tooth paste that makes you gag. It's the act of moving your tongue to the back of your mouth so you can brush your teeth. I could dry brush, and have the same problem. I don't like Toms of Maine anyway, it's too gritty for me. Thank you though, I was a nice suggestion.

Anyways, I decided that once finals are over and I start summer classes, I'm going to take a class at a gym, probably spinning. Working out by myself at home just isn't working. I don't know if my workout is enough really. I really hope I can lose like 10 pounds by the end of the end of the summer I would be suuuch a happy camper. Then I hopefully find a way to lose 10 more pounds before my wedding in December.
Le sigh.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
you guys could try doing a light brush, and then knock out the rest of the germies with mouthwash.
oh. and definitely do not let your tummy get too empty, then the morning sickness gets worse... don't eat too much either.
i loved sour hard candies, like jolly ranchers or altoid sours.
