Hey salaams,
Not sure if anyone has responded to this but you cannot just do any exercises. From the little knowledge I have on the topic, you really should speak to your doctor about this and even then be cautious. My trainer at the gym became pregnant as we were working out together. Her husband is a doctor and so he limited her from straining her abdomen area at all for at least the first three months even though she's in fantastic shape mA and works out regularly and has for years.
You really should try to find a class specifically pregnant women especially if you have not been working out regularly. Just please please please be careful even if you don't feel like you're pushing your self hard iA.

aww deep breaths
salams...ok i'm sure you didnt mean that to be offensive...but you've got pretty bad timing. i think the post is a little insensitive, especially with a lot of pregnant ladies/new mothers in here. yeah, your body might not look perfect after having babies...but look at what you get out of it, a beautiful baby! as you get older youre not gonna look perfect anyway and obviously you want to try to do what you can to minimize the effects...but come on. i think "vomiting" about it is kinda immature/insensitive, and even if you didnt mean it that way...to be honest, thats how it comes across. just my 2 cents.
i think mommies are amazing and go through so much for the sake of their kids...props to the moms

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
No that is not how i meant it. I admit that it was really bad timing considering there are new moms/pregnant ladies in here so I apologize to anyone that took offense. Although I was looking at it from the point of view that I will be in the same category soon....I know a lot of pregnant women who were freaking out about that stuff more than me and that was after they already found out they were pregnant.
...and if you read my later posts you will see that my misconceptions were corrected after I talked to my mom about it...

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
I am going to kill someone. I am having the crappiest weekend/week ever. Too much stuff to do and I got 4 hours of unrestful sleep thanks to all the coffee I drank to stay awake til 4 am. Just as I was using the extra hour between class to drift off to sleep this stupid rude girl comes up to me, looking down and barks "EXCUSE ME!" Being a stupid idiot that I am I didnt think twice, moved my legs for her to sit down. What I should have done is barked back "cant you see I'm trying to sleep, find your own damn chair." No sleep tonight either! Or the next..

I own a burkini but never even had the opportunity to use it.
Where in FL you coming to?
|
jacksonville inshallah but nothing's for sure yet. There are actually looser burkini models that I've seen. I've seen the one with pants that look like tights and I didnt really like those either. I like the one that have baggier pants with the kind of longer shirt right above the knees. Kinda like this one

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Speaking of which, I could rant and rant and rant some more of 'muslim clothing'. It seems theyre designed for slimmer women with little to no... curves?
Like if i were to try a medium sized anything from a muslim store, the sleeves and length would be great, but it would be tighter from certain areas, making them very prominent... and if I go a size larger, the overall frame would fit but the sleeves and length would be too long (because Im short ), making it seem really, really ill fitted.
Sigh. the story of my zindagi

*sigh* my problem's somewhat opposite. I find that sleeves are often too short and the "torso" area and bust is always too loose compared to the sleeves (I guess I have monkey arms? ). A size bigger doesn't help at all. I think most clothes seem to be designed for small-statured, short-armed skinny desis and not us tall Amazonian types

Mashallah be glad you have a shape, my friend actually has one too and she is "tall and fair" as well. Right now I am in the process of losing weight inshallah...so in about 3 weeks I will be flat as a board again. Whether I lose weight by working out/eating like a pig or just dieting, I still have 0 curves...I look a lot like the typical Asian body type. I would rather have curves (people say I have a large head, does that count? ).. oh well..

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Hm, I've never quite understood the almost universal fascination with height, especially for women. Its a huge up in desi culture, and the western culture as well.
meh. I like being small though
Every body type has an aspect another lacks which just means we're all beautiful in our own way. Alhamdulilah.
Also, I'm sure you have a lovely figure, punk! so stop it
(can you tell we're both procrastinating? , for me Im trying to putt off stuyding for my exam .. what're you putting off?)

I'm the biggest procrastinator ever, ugh! Well I just finished my book report like 10 seconds ago and sent it to myself for printing later. Alhamdulillah I've been pretty good about studying this weekend and not letting Islamica or other things (food ) usurp all my time. Now I've gotta go back to my apartment and get started on some other stuff. Wooppee.
Good luck on your exam!

Shukr clothing is the opposite though. I always find the clothes to big on me heh...
I have a petite build and short. I will never come close to a size 4 (at the hips especially!) Alhamdulillah over the past 3 years I've lost 30 pounds, dropped 3 dress sizes, 4 inches off my waist, 3 inches of my hips, etc... (sorry, I just love saying that I worked so hard for it!).. a
I like my height and I like my build and shape, it's just, eh my size. I'd like to lose another 20 pounds.
