so a local 16-year-old muslimah has been diagnosed with hodgkins lymphoma and they're having a lot of trouble finding her blood type (O+), so she still hasn't received any blood transfusions... please remember her in your du'aas... jazakallah khair

Is O+ that rare? I'm O+, but I've been advised not to donate blood ever (unless it's to myself for an elective surgery).

poor girl. she's definitely in my duas. maybe you can send an email out to local college msa's asking for those with O+ blood types to donate to her? I'm O+ (I thought it was a fairly common blood type?), if I wasn't pregnant, I'd donate to her.

I'm O+ as well.

So I went to see the PA at my doctor's office. I am starting to dilate (1.5 cm) and she said I'm 60% effaced. She's predicting that the other 40% will go quickly once it starts to go, so I'm supposed to keep an eye out for contractions.

Mother: So when are you getting married?
Me: What?
Mother: You're limiting yourself you know...
Me: What do you mean?
Mother: You're only going to marry a Muslim, right?
Me: Yes
Mother: Muslim men only like really young girls, after 20 they don't like you and they also don't like people who weren't born Muslim. So its probably not going to happen.
Me: So basically you asked me when I'm getting married then telling me that I'l probably never get married?
Mother: Well, if you didn't marry a Muslim...
Me: So umm great weather isn't it...
