you know what's messed up? even that idealizing included an honest awareness of a lot of not-so-good things... to the extent that i felt like i was being realistic, and despite being aware of most of the shortcomings, was still okay with the whole thing. from the beginning, i knew the situation was always far from ideal, but even so i seem to have idealized it.
now, more things are becoming clear, and it's not even nearly over, but i'm really beginning to wonder if i can do better. because like someone said earlier, little problems or character flaws don't simply go away or become more tolerable over time.

Volume 8, Book 77, Number 594:
Narrated Anas bin Malik:
The Prophet said, "Allah puts an angel in charge of the uterus and the angel says, 'O Lord, (it is) semen! O Lord, (it is now ) a clot! O Lord, (it is now) a piece of flesh.' And then, if Allah wishes to complete its creation, the angel asks, 'O Lord, (will it be) a male or a female? A wretched (an evil doer) or a blessed (doer of good)? How much will his provisions be? What will his age be?' So all that is written while the creature is still in the mother's womb."

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
in other news.... FREAKING HELL!!!! I HATE MY MOOD SWINGS!!!!! alhamdulillah, as upset as i was, i didn't say anything or hurt anyone's feelings... instead i cried a whole bunch and vented to the husband. on top of it all, i had really bad cramps and food poisoning and ended up missing my friend's nikkah
my mommy is incredible masha'allah and i'm so lucky to have her. nearly all of my kameezes are too tight for me to wear properly so i took them over to her for her to alter... she fixed two of them in like an hour flat... they look sooooo nice now that they actually fit me. oh... and shes throwing a dawat for like 100+ people at her house and has zero help so i feel really crappy because shes overworked and not doing well healthwise and i'm not there to help... i'm planning on driving back on the morning of to help her out, and stay the night to help with the clean up insha'allah. could you please keep her in your du'aas? i'd really appreciate it.. jazaks

...at the same time, i'm afraid of throwing away a good thing.
i dont know where the line is between a good person who has a lot of baggage to overcome but wants to move on, and someone who might not ever get over it, and might not ultimately be worth the trouble.
it's never a good idea to go into something hoping the other will change.

I'm surprised they have tampons at all. I would have thought there was some taboo or fatwa forbiding tampons.

you could put it in the microwave. the heat will get rid of the liquid inside the camera.

i would cancel the dawat and just tell people your mom's not feeling well, im sure they will understand that your mom doesent need the extra stress.

i looked alright by my standards and i thought my makeup sucked big time, when i walked in..my sister said, lightning system in the hall compliments my makeup?
and as i saw my lost friends, they complimented on my looks. mA.
