FPH MISSION #2: my hair is really straight (alhumdulillah), but i want it curled for foozball's mehndi, inshaAllah. i know i can curl it myself with a curling iron (i've done it plenty of times before), but my problem is THE CURLS DON'T STAY for more than an hour! no matter what i do -- not wash my hair the day of a party, use hair gel, mousse or spray (whatever's lying around at home) -- it won't stay.
how can i get my curls to stay curly for at least 4-5 hours?
|
definitely do not wash your hair for a day or two before. that's all i know. curls never stay in my hair. how crappy. me mehendi is all girls and all the hijabis are planning on going all out and i have to sit there looking ugly :fastatlk:

Out of curiousity, did you or your sister exhibit symptoms of hirsuitism while you had the cysts? If you don't mind me asking..
I still hurt, I wish Mr. Salika was around to give me a massage

Oh yeah, alhamdulillah. For her it was definately a freak thing. She's never had any female problems, no fertility problems, she's fine.
No neither of us have excessive hairiness, or male pattern baldness. My other sister has it really bad, but she doesn't have cystic ovaries like I do. We're a strange family.
Oldest sister: no female problems, gets a random huge cyst and has major surgery
Middle sister: horrible female problems, but no cysts, hasn't had surgery to date
Youngest sister: intermediate female problems, had minor surgery.
We're all rooting for sister 2 to fix her problems AND avoiod surgery, but it's easier said than done poor girl.

When they got there, they found that my appendix was fine (they removed it anyway), and the problem was a very large cyst on my left ovary. The surgeon drained it, and sent me home. My doctor then discontinued the BC pills. That wasn't the first cyst I'd had, but it was the worst.
Oh, and to answer the other question, my due date is September 4.

Omg, that sounds intense. I thought my appendix was about to burst too, but then when I looked at body maps I realised it wasnt where my appendix was...so then i diagnosed myself with ovarian cysts. I think it happens at That time of the month specifically, so I should really run to the docs NOW Insha Allah I hope you don't have anymore, without doubt the mst pain ive been in my ENTIRE life.
And may Allah swt give you a smooth, safe and happy childbirth ameen

May Allah swt you all good health, ameen. Are ovarian cysts that common?! A friend of mine had 0ne/some and the doc said she'd have fertility issues, but once she got married she was pregnant in 4 weeks Being a girl is super scary.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
apparently most women have cysts are some point or another i heard..and sometimes they never get severe enough to cause any side effects? is this true? if so, what might be the evolutionary perspective behind it.. i wonder

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Day 4 and still cramping... goodness!
Yesterday I looked really cute but today I don't feel like it because I'm cramping and I kind of feel like psht because that's what I see in the mirror. I'm working on my jurisprudence paper and have all this research and like 15 books to read through to filter out what I need.
Of course I'm going to make myself feel better by going shopping I kind of need to anyway, grocery shopping, need to stop at sephra ( ) and Ulta ( ) and ya... alhamdulillah 3ala kulli hal.
My acne is slowly starting to go away alhamdulillah. A lot of the old dark marks have disappeared and they're getting a lot less severe. Still waiting on the blood tests though, sigh...
