clothing or mode of transportation? If I'm taking a road trip, depends on where I'm going or with who. If it's with the family and we're taking a long trip or just going to Chicago to get some more zabiha supplies then it's sweats for me! On planes I try to dress up more...like it or not, you get treated better at the airport and on the plane if you don't look like a slob. In my experience, on trains and buses nobody particularly cares what you look like.

that's too cute! Alhamdulillah I have all of my grandparents still, both sets of gparents got married and had kids young and so did both my parents (my oldest grandparent is 73). And my dadi is so much like how you guys are describing your grandmas! She still complains about stuff that happened 25 years ago . You know though, sometimes I think our grandmas from "back home" have good reason for complaining sometimes because as women I feel they were given the short end of the stick throughout their lives. My dadi despite mashallah coming from a well-to-do family (and marrying into one) had a very tough life after marriage (she was married at 15 without being consulted and later lost 3 of her children etc etc)

same here
and I wish I saw both my grandmas on a regular basis instead of once in 2-4 years (trips to motherland).
subhanAllah...grandparents are so precious, their love is just soooo special.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
my left nostril has been bleeding for 3 days now, it hurts a lot too.
by bleeding i don't mean running down my nose..but that when i stick a tissue up there to clean it is covered with blood.
I got to know my dad's parents..my mom's dad passed away 2 months before i was born and i saw my mom's mom only 3 times in 14 years. Both of my grandmas were really nice.

I never met my dadi. I think she passed away before meeting any of her grandchildren. In her last conversation with my father - the last time he saw her, she said, "I have a feeling that all of my children will be okay. I just won't be there to see it." I saw my nana for about two weeks time in 87. Same with my dada. We couldn't stay too long in India because my sister and I got deathly ill. When we went back to Pakistan, we found out my dad had a heart attack and my mother and I came back to America. That's the last time I saw my nana and dada. When we went back to Pakistan in 92, my grandmother was on her death bed. She didn't recognize my mother - her own child. She looked as if someone dug up a grave, took the body out, and laid it on a bed. It was really sad. I guess in a way, I never really knew any of my grandparents.

I can't wear pants anymore. Maternity pants are the suck, they don't STAY UP! And I'm short so I end up walking on the bottoms.
Don't worry, summer's on its way and you can wear pretty dresses and skirts and there are so many lovely tops and kurtis that can accommodate all that extra belly
How's everything going with you anyway?

really? did you get the pants that have the elastic belt all the way around? I love the maternity jeans I got. but yea, I prefer skirts and dresses to pants now days, heh.
but yea, my belly grew a bunch this week, so all at once, nothing fits.. it's sad to have to pack away all the new shalwar kameez I brought back from india last summer. but oh well, that just means I have to have my sis in law send me some new stuff, iA, heh.
how are you doing??
