That's exactly how i look at it and it makes me feel a lot better. Most of the time i'm ok with my inlaws living with me, but Sometimes my selfishness gets the most of me
I just hope i'm able to take care of them and maybe in the process gain a few good deeds.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAIMUUN !!

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
hm
i was talking to a guy before, and one major major thing that we couldnt agree with , was the whole living with in-laws bit (he was brown). it was one of the biggest reasons for us ending things.
i cant see myself doing it. like...what if i wanna walk around the house in booty shorts? or, what if i just wanna be lazy one day and sloth around? and where is the privacy?
i guess im just not used to it..i actually dont know anyone that lives with their in-laws. its not something that people do in our community AT ALL. like back home, people would live in the same building as their parents or something at most, but never in the same house.
props to those that can deal with that though
ANYWHO...im bored i hate being alone and waiting for time to pass at school...it suuuuuuuuuucks

Ya, it seems almost unheard for Arabs. I don't think I could live with my in-laws unless I had to (like if they were sick and needed their son), but ya, alhamdulilah for good in-laws

sorry if somone asked this ...( to lazy to go back)
but i dont understand how *not* living with your in-laws would harm your marriage...or did i just understand that wrong?

Yeah it can certainly be a big issue, so it's best to know about each other's expectations before marriage. I am far too independent for that sort of lifestyle, but it works for others and they are happy.

I wouldn't encourage such behavior......explain to her that its wrong and you'll get her anything else
Its possible that she might not know what the bunny really stands for....she might just like it for the bunny

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Like zzze I'm also a bit of a natural recluse. Plus I do have a nosy, dominating type mil. I wouldn't mind living nearby my husbands parents to help them out financially or physically but in the same house is out of the question. I can just as many rewards that way insha'Allah, as well as helping out my own parents i'A.
Like heba said, privacy is important, esp when it comes to stuff like "booty shorts"...I DO like to shop at vs a lot . At home I like to dress like I did my "pre-hijab" days of high school and that would not fly with my in-laws. At their house I once stepped 2 feet outside my husband and I's bedroom door wearing a thick-strap, high-neck tank top to grab a towel (their AC doesnt work upstairs and it was the middle of summer). I didnt realize but my fil was vacuuming the stairs and he saw me but acted jolly as usual and didnt comment on my shirt (even though I held up the towel feeling awkward). I also like what onetspvanilla said about having pringles for dinner...sometimes we're both tired and don't feel like going out/cooking *shrug*...i know mil wouldnt like that
Immediately after I got a "talking to" from my mil about how "we don't wear things like that" around the guys (my fil, i wear hijab around the bil) . That situation was different b/c it was an accident and in their house but quite frankly, I dont need somebody else moving into my house dictating what I can and cannot wear for myself/my husband.
