Re: Female Personal Hygiene
i slept too much today...i woke up at 9:30, stuffed my face with 2 and a half donuts (1/2 because halfway through i realized that im getting fat) and chocolate milk (someone tell me i need to get over my love for food, if food was a man id marry him ) and then browsed the internet like a procrastinating dork for 2 hours, then took out my stats textbook......and fell asleep...i woke up for like 5 minutes after faling asleep in the most awkward position and told myself id wake up in 30 minutes, and stretched out nicely on my bed to take my 30 minute nap...and lo and behold...i woke up at 4. exactly 4 hours later. this is what happens when no one is at home and ur home alone and ur mommy isnt there to come screamin at u to wake up.... then ever since then ive been groggy and headachey and eye burning-y and totally out of it....blah day.

go into an empty room, shut the door, sit down on the floor, take a few deep breaths with your eyes closed, and just calm down for 15 minutes and relax yourself.
if not, the scream into a pillow method always does wonders....though it gives u a sore throat kinda... or u can just go outside and take a walk around the neighborhood and itll calm u down...
 *hug*

Eat something and take a nap, dont cram all night. Wake up in a few hours when you feel more refreshed and then get up to study. This is a lot better than studying on an empty stomach and being sleep deprived. Good luck on your exam..will make dua iA. [Get off of Islamica ]

Some of this stuff might not apply if you're rooming with a practicing Muslim.
"Quiet Time" between certain times at night (maybe shorter on weekends?)
No boyfriends/fiances/men in general sleeping over/coming over for long periods of time
No beer in the fridge
No parties
No smoking anything inside
Keep the pork/bacon/ham far away from my stuff
Bills - how to divide/when to pay/who to pay
Cleaning schedule - also share what each of you considers "clean"
Common courtesy - don't leave your mess lying in the common areas, clean up the hair from the tub/flush, use my stuff but put it back as you found it, no loud music/movies (that's what headphones are for), let me know if someone's coming over so I can get out of the way/clean up etc etc...
Work out class schedules so you're not in each others' way in the morning. (E.g. I have to get ready to go to a class at 10. You don't have class til 4 yet you take a shower every morning at 9 am. Do it at 8, wait til I'm out of the bathroom or do it the night before)
That's all I can think of. For now.

maybe its just me... but all of those things (and more) were things we discussed before even considering living with each other... and i never had to deal with non-muslim/un-islamic roommates either so i wasn't inconvenienced by any of the men/beer/partying etc... hope everything works out for you insha'allah...

not to scare anyone, but discussing it doesnt necessarily mean anything. i discussed all those things before living with my (former) roommate, and it was okay for about a month until she said the second criterion was turning out to be harder than she'd anticipated and wanted me to move out "so she wouldn't disrespect me." like the time when i came out of the shower hijab-less (in a bathrobe, actually) and walked into my room, only to find her chatting up a guy in there.
i hate roommates >=[

i think things worked out with me and my roommates because we were all on the same page islamically... even though sometimes living with roommates can suck... i kind of miss it a little bit because of the sisterhood... and the msa and other junk... we all used to pray together and have halaqas and stuff... good times.
