Just want to mention, shaikh Abdur-Rahman ibn Yusuf is a traditional scholar, and Dr. Bilal Phillips is not, so just like countless other issues, there is a disagreement on this. so basically if you are a muqalid (you follow one of the 4 imams) you can follow shaikh Abdur-Rahman ibn Yusuf, and if you're gair Muqallid (don't believe in any of the Imams) you can follow Dr. Bilal Phillips.

on an unrelated topic, is tonight the 15th of shaban (and tomorrow's day) or was it last night and during the day today? i'm so confuzzled, no one ever species if the islamic calendar on their site indicates the islamic date during the day or the night

It's tonight and tomorrow during the day.  Islamically, the day starts at Maghrib.

it's sunnah to fast the 13th, 14th and 15th of shaban, i believe. so your fast today was not in vain, inshaAllah

Not just Shabaan, but for every Islamic month. They are considered the white days.
Abu Dharr Al-Ghafari reported: "The Messenger of Allah ordered us to fast for three days of every month - that is, on the days of the full moon (the 13th, 14th, and 15th of the lunar month). And he said: 'It is like fasting the whole year.'" (Reported by An-Nasa'i)

Pain, pain, paaaaain.
My period's here and it's off to a /wonderful/ start. Second day in.
I usually know when my period is coming because I feel uncomfortably cold. A lot colder than usual and can barely stand the air conditioning, even a day or two before the period actually comes.
Well, I've been in ridiculous sleep-disrupting pain these past two nights. Volteren isn't working for me and I've taken two. How many do I have to take now, three?! Mama said to come to her if it didn't work after the second, but now she's asleep and I'm the only one awake. I can't believe I've only slept about three hours! It felt like ages! -groan-
It's also making me very irritable.
