word. i like the virginia weather.
in other news: i'm pissed off at my boss.. she thinks i can't do my job right..WATEVER!!! She's only at the office two days a week, she has no idea how accurately i do my jobs. She gives me partial instructions and expects me to figure out things on my own. So my supervisor wants me to impress her, its like there's no point. My job is going from a full-time to part-time, why the hell do i wanna impress her now??? .. as soon as i find out a few things, i'll be applying other places. I just hate that when you are starting to get comfortable, you have to start all over again.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
My interview went well, Alh. The principal kept telling me that I was really nice - a sweet person . Anyway, he said he can't guarantee me a position, but I am a candidate if anything opens up. He also asked me if it was okay to pass my name on to some other schools. Hopefully, I'll find a job soon, iA. I really need one!

at least not that i'm aware of...
we have a lot of mutual friends, in fact he's known some of my friends longer than i've known them.
but, i'm cool with it. you gotta be chill with it. i mean, he has female colleagues at work, with whom i'm sure he jokes around and talks with.
i'm not gonna be like "don't go to work. it's haram."
and the same applies to me. i have male friends on facebook, but i certainly don't call them on the phone and chat for a couple of hours if afeef is running late from soccer practice.
it's just a matter of practicing common sense.
in the end, all i have to say is: i like boys.

Yeah, we're pretty similar. We've never sat down and set concrete parameters, but I can see how it might be necessary if people have different conceptions of friendships and what is and isn't appropriate. We both have work friends, but when we socialize outside of work spouses are generally included, so it all works out.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
it's interesting how everyone has different views on this sorta stuff..but i dont think that both spouses are cool with steering clear of the opposite gender there's a super controlling factor or anything of that nature involved. cuz from what everyones saying, the limitations sound pretty mutual

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Man, I'm wondering how I'm going to do this appellate brief before my spring break/engagement party. Apparently just doing the proper citations by itself can take hours
Ok, bismillah.

Well, you probably shouldn't marry someone who has a different conception of this (not because having male friends in and of itself is a dealbreaker, but often these kinds of views are associated with being on the same page on other things). I also think that the longer people have been in a workplace, the more experience they will have in dealing with these things and the more realistic expectations they will develop. For example, at one place that I go to for work, there's an uncle there. At first it was weird (like what do I call him at work?). But, now we've settled into normal interactions. Once in awhile I'll even have lunch with him and it's totally not a big deal (auntie and MrPhDGirl obviously are aware and this auntie tells me to make sure he has salad as though I have control over his diet). But, it's not like this uncle and I would go shopping or out for coffee, you know?

Would be kind of funny if you did go shopping
PhdGirl: Uncle, does this make me look fat?
Uncle: Of course not, beti! *wobble head*
