Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Man, I'm taking Haneef to a playdate in the park and I feel so guilty! I feel guilty because I'm not working at hubby's office today, I feel guilty because I'm leaving my mother-in-law at home (who keeps asking how far away the park is, who's coming, etc.), I feel guilty because hubby's (older) cousin keeps calling and asking when I'm coming over and I can't today (even though whenever I AM free, she isn't).
Anyway, my hubby told me to stop feeling guilty and go, because there isn't anything to feel guilty about, even if other people are hinting to me that there is.
Okay, I feel better now.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Today is a not so good day.
Didn't get enough sleep last night becuase of TA duty. Looks like a lot of kids cheated. Have a huge test on Monday, and a big homework assignment due. For the exam the teacher gave no review, no review sheet, and basically told us that we have to know everything. 5 chapters of Quantum Mechanics is a whole hell of a lot to know everything about. And the assignment for Monday sucks.
Oh, and I'm tired.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
my cousin is doing better, alhamdulillah. he is starting to walk again today.
it feels so surreal, i cant believe something like this is actually happenin to someone so close. it really, really hit hard and i cried A LOT last night. i just cant imagine him in such a weak state...
i called my mom today (shes in lebanon) and told her, she freaked out and was like "see heba, see how short life can be..." shes so right.

so let me see if i have this right...
right now your just "american" engaged = promised to each other that you will eventually get married
this weekend your gonna be "arab" engaged = *real* married
and in a few years (after law school) your gonna have the walima = big party to celebrate that you got married years/months before.
so my next question is....according to culture when you do you acutally live with your hubby?

Yes, we are American "engaged" right now but after the engagement party we are still engaged. The party is like a big announcement/celebration. We are considered married after the walima (with white dress) and that's when I live with him insha'Allah.
Does that clarify it?

right
there is the "fat7a"-->thats the announcement that 2 people are talking and plan on getting married (they call it an engagement..like part 1)
then there is the engagement (part2? lol) and that is when islamically you are married, and you have a big engagement party (some are as big as weddigns- like my brothers he had on the weekend in lebanon)
then there is the wedding..which is the white dress big party with dinner and dancing, and then honeymoon and live together
