Yeah, it depends.
If you're in the areas Chotoo talked about where there are more Pushtoon/Afghan people, women will tend to be in burqas.
But we live in Punjab, smack dab in the middle of Islamabad and Lahore and people tend to just wear shalwar kameezes with dupattas. You do have hijabis too, but that's more of a recent trend.
Displaced: Ah, k. You don't see it as fard or anything? Just wondering.
Umm... happy belated Valentine's Day everybody.
I got two long-stemmed roses: one red and one white. From girl friends, okay? Also, I wore pink and everybody said it was nice and that I've lost weight.
Also: Wow, I've totally broken my coffee habit. I pulled an all nighter yesterday and have been up for like way more than 24 hours now, but got through the day without drinking anything but water.
I drink green tea once in a while now (they sell this cool iced one on campus) but that's it.

The majority of women I saw covered their heads, only dupatta-less woman I saw was a western blondie who was obviously a UN worker. Many ladies covered their faces with their dupata (they don't call it dupata, they call it a chador, since it's bigger and thicker than a dupata) and there was the odd woman in a shuttlecock burqa. In the house when company came I tried to cover my head with just a dupata, but it irritates me to adjust it all the time, so I would wear hijab, and dupata on my shoulders. Hope that made sense.

ditto. I wear hijab here and niqab there.
ha. The funniest thing happened to me today. My cousin, a friend, and I decided to go to cheesecake factory. It being valentines day, the place was filled with couples. I was meeting my cousin and my friend there since I was running late. I called when I walked into the restaurant to see where they were sitting and my friend came up to the front to get me. When we see other arabs (maybe its just a yemeni thing), we kiss them on the cheek as a hello. Some people do it in public, and some just stick to peoples homes. I don't really care and I guess it was more out of reflex, but we did the kiss on the cheek thing. I felt all eyes on us and the surrounding area get a bit quiet. Then we walked to our table smiling and asking how each other is and it was a ripple effect of eyes staring at us as we walked by each table. I think they thought we were lesbians lol. We found it funny. Ha she found this girl dancing in front of the mirror in the ladies room later on. The girl got so embarrassed and apologized and ran out lol. Don't know why someone would apologize.

Either it was too cheap to last, or I gave it away. It's been 7 years since my first.
I still have some things from my second. That's why i registered, my family in NY always wants to send stuff, and it's easy for them to know what I need, also I won't have to make returns later if I duplicate. Plus, I have a lot of in-laws.

I wouldn't recommend pasta. Its too heavy to have this late. Is cream of wheat like oatmeal? eat that if it is.
Edit: ok your post disappeared. I didn't make up something and pretend iSHi said it. I'm not crazy

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Um..thanks.
I decided to do toast and cocoa. I need to stop my bad eating habit. It's past misdnight so I guess you could say I only ate one meal yesterday. It's been like this for awhile.

naw, kissing on the cheek is weird and lesbo. Kissing on the mouth, especially french kissing, now THAT is normal
No, i'm just kidding. I don't know why people thought it was weird. Non-Brittish European people kiss all the time. Maybe you don't have enough of those people in your area or something.
