Re: Female Personal Hygiene
People just keeping proving how dumb they are.
I also like the "I'm the big sister" or "I'm the big brother" tops. And I remember seeing something along the lines of "I demand attention" or something, it was cute.

yeah it was just an honest question btw. i seem to give off the confrontational vibe around here
it's pretty cool/interesting how that does end up happening. i mean, a lot of women deliver healthy babies having thrown up during pregnancy..and there's this whole eating for two thing because the kid needs stuff to grow.. i should probably google or read a book on this but i think i recall that women only really go through throw up spells during the very beginning?

I lost about 8 lbs my first trimester. it happens to a lot of women. what I was told was that as long as I took the prenatal vitamins, the baby would get the proper nutrients, even if I couldn't keep food down or wasn't eating enough because of the nausea.

She probably doesn't even have her own kids so how is she suppose to know what are right and wrong gifts? The point is that it's the thought that counts. She did go out of her way to buy you things so that should mean something to you. Besides, can't you just go to the store with her and exchange it for something that you don't already have?

She does have kids, 4 kids. Of course I dont mind her buying the baby things like clothes etc, but I would like to decide on nappies, etc. My rant is not silly(it may seem to you). You dont have a SIL who is possessive of everything. She is already buying the baby cot. It's like someone going out and buying you beauty products and saying 'you have to use them'. And yes i am old enough to understand that this baby is not bringing happiness into my life but others inshAllah.

On a side note, it kind of sucks when you organize everything for his wedding and all the receptions that come long with a wedding, and in the end have a sister-in-law who isnt very...tolerant/accepting?, for lack of better phrasing.
|
Who is saying that I wont let her buy clothes for neice/nephew?
Like Ameerah said, you dont even know my SIL. I know how possessive she is and sometimes it can get a bit too much. Like i have said time and time again clothes, other gifts are great. But when you know that the essentials have been bought, why spend on that? Also it's nice to be asked as well instead of taking over. My own mother has bought everything but she took me with her so I can have an input.
I can't explain about the 'i love Aunt tops'. I dont mind when his other sister will get it but with this one, she is very controlling. That is my point. Ever since I have been here, she has been controlling to the point where she dislikes me making friends here. She doesn't like it when I go to their houses and so on.
Anyway I apologise about my post. It seems to have caused a big debate here. I didn't mean for that to happen but anyway, i'm glad im leaving this place.
Also Sally, i wasn't sure if you were being sarcy?

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Hmm, well yes, then obviously the problem is far beyond what we (or I) thought it to be. Have you talked to her about it? or have you mentioned to your husband that you feel uneasy about her possessiveness?

My husband himself feels like that. We have told her time and time again. There's a lot more to it. Firstly, we owe her a lot of money which we are trying to pay off. She always causes tension for my husband about the money. But then she'll go out and buy me expensive gifts, diamond necklaces etc. We have explained to her nicely that we dont MIND gifts but it should be within limitation. She has 4 kids herself and always moans she needs her money back. So how does it make sense when every eid she spends around £200 on me? It doesn't, does it? I know some of the sisters here will say sarcastically 'oh you should be grateful'....yes I am but to the point where we feel she owns us.
She is the type of person that will barge into your house and say 'this is how you feed the baby' or 'this is what you should do'. For a mother, it's a learning curve and of course i'll accept the help when i ask for it but i want to have my own way of doing things. Also like i said in the 1st post she mentioned to 'start us off'...she didn't mean it in a good way. She thinks we haven't done ANYTHING for the baby when we have already done the shopping.
Now with this baby, i have no hesitation in her spending on it. Honestly, i do understand the excitement. But the 'i love auntie' tops is a point she is trying to make. It's a long story. I guess I should have not even bothered posting.
His other sister bought the baby clothes, and a t-shirt saying 'i love daddy' and i took that happily. She is VERY understanding and genuine. She doesn't make us feel guilty for the gifts she gives us.
Anyway, I am shocked at how some of the sisters here just kinda ganged up on me. I used to recall this place as very friendly. Not ppl throwing sarcasm around and making someone feel liek they are silly.

It's ok. I just felt quite bullied on a forum especially by the senior members. It's not nice to be sarcastic to someone when they may really be upset about something. That is why I am leaving. I have noticed how all you see is rudeness, sarcasm around this place. Ppl making jokes of other ppls feelings and think it's funny.
Anyway I may not be here to read it, not if i will check the site anymore. I'm meant to be packing my hospital back which I keep delaying. Pls do keep us in your duas

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
sumiyia: the diet link you posted...is kinda really meant for guys in competetive sports where body weight is everything...so, i would strongly advise against following something like that. it's a quick fix for people (guys) who need to meet a set weight requirement in like a week or two or something...
even for them i'd say it's pretty nonsensical of an idea..anyway especially for women like us ( childbearing age and all), we wanna keep a good balance of carbs (simple and complex), protein and fat. i know there's a meal plan at the end and you could defiinitely pick up some tips from that. obviously youd cut down on the amount of food and probably not even be able to eat as muc | |
