What you are describing are not scars since alhamdulillah they are not permanent. With time they will fade on their own anyway. But to speed that up there are two things you can use:
1. Creams/lotions with alpha hydroxies in them, either glycolic acid or lactic acid (for dry or sensitive skin). Neutrogena's healthy skin lotion has glycolic acid. Alpha hydrox's (you can get it at ulta or online) 12% AHA cream or 10%. 12% is pretty high though so you should work your way up. Basically these creams exfoliate your skin at a faster right getting rid of spots. They're great as a general skin care product.

2. The Olay definity line has an ingredient called niacinamide. (Actually most of olay's products have it but the definity line has the highest concentration). This is a form of vitamin B3 which aids in fading hyperpigmentation and aid in skin repair. Spotlight On: Niacinamide FutureDerm.WordPress.com

Hope that helps

Ya, hydroquonine is a skin irritant but some people are not bothered by it. It's banned in the UK due to its carcigenic (sp?) properties when used long term. There are alternatives to it such as niacinamide, kojic acid and I think blueberry extract. The blog that I linked to mentions them I believe... by the way, that's a GREAT blog!

i bought something from Avon called 'Anew clinical advanced retexturizing glycolic peel.' They're these little pads that you wipe on your skin every other night after washing your face, then wait 10 minutes and apply moisturizer. It's really helped the hyperpigmentation spots on my face

Thanks for the acne-scar-fading talk. I have an appointment with my derm tomorrow. I told him that I wanted to do something about the scars and he told me that I should just cover the scarring up with makeup. Later I asked for accutane and he flat out said no. He's kind of a tough ol' bird (read: stubborn hard---). LOL. *Sigh.... We'll see what happens tomorrow, iA.

i pray Allah brings justice to those who harm the innocnet, teh kind, the soft hearted the naive. may Allah bring ease to those who have been wronged...you hear so much, u feel so much...but there is always someoen in a worse situation then you..and u can't beleive vial like that exists..you can't beleive someoen so close to your heart can do that...someoen who is a compelte starnger can hurt you without even knowing you...how can this be? i have yet to udnerstand, adn accept it...i still, cannot.

sometimes, it's too muchto hear the truth that is out there, and it's sometimes too hard to really open your eyes and stop pertending to be blind tothe evil that lurks behind those you try to accept as good ppl..

pray for all those who suffer, we are never alone in our own pain.

Drama, for what my advice may be worth... I think you should seek another opinion regarding accutane. It seems your acne is nonresponsive to other medication and keeps coming back.. and you're in adult years and you've had it for a long time. I think a lot of derms would give you accutane off the bat. Also, I think it's a bit strange he thinks you should just cover them up with makeup because those marks are treatable. Retin-a, tri-luma (rx) and other products do a great job with this problem. Even pitted scars can be improved. Though I'm not a doctor, it's just my two cents

Good luck
