Just be open minded about it so your parents aren't frustrated by you. At least be willing to trust their judgment and give people a shot and if it doesn't work, move on. If you are super resistant to even considering someone...there will be a lot of drama.. and tears.. and drama... and yelling.. and hai Allah... ptv drama.

dear dr. fooz,
what is your advice for a sister who gets all sorts of drama and pressure because her parents think that she can't get married while she's wearing hijab because they feel hijab makes her look ugly? also, what do you do about mothers who send unhijabbed pictures of their daughters out to rishtas without telling their daughters?

i have no freaken idea. alhumdullilah i am blessed with fantastic parents, masha'Allah. When all else fails, make dua, trust Allah, and don't take anymore hijabless pics.

Do they really? Unintentionally doesn't really count then. If they don't know they're playing a mind game, then they're not playing it. It's just that women tend to over-analyze everything. Hope it works out though.
