where do you get urs done?
I use Sally Hansen's Express Wax- it tends not to overheat as easily as regular Sally Hansen wax and I think tthe consistency is smooth/softer which helps w/applying it to ur arms and legs. (it also has chocolate in it??? Dunno how that helps...) I've never waxed my own pits though I know i'll end up applying the wax & strip only to wimp out and slowly pull it off in the end.. resulting in 10x more pain and not a single hair gone

I get it done at a nail spa owned by Asians. I use to get it done an indian salon back in nj, but the ladies never did a good job. this one time she burned my skin with hot wax. it hurt so much and then left a brown spot.
Once hubby and i tried waxing my own..and it didn't turn out too well. the hair just wouldn't come out. so i was like i'd rather spend the $20 every three weeks.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
I think I'll stick to a good ol' razor for pits. But I do want to try getting my legs waxed. I hate shaving them. Btw, has anyone tried that leave-n-the-shower Nair stuff? Does it really stay on your legs while you shower?
Speaking of de-hairfying, threading has ruined my brows...I have to wait at least another week before they can get fixed with wax.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
If I get underarms waxed I ALWAYS get ingrowns, without fail. What can I do about that?
Plus last time I went the lady used the wrong wax (the weaker stuff for face instead of the stronger wax for the body) so once she saw the hair wasn't coming out, she used the right wax but my skin was already turning pink. I had red itchy painful rash-filled underarms for 2 months afterwards

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
i like the arabic sugar wax stuff. it takes a little getting used to in order to do it yourself, but if you brace your elbow against a wall (or mirror if you want to see what youre doing) and then reach down with that same hand to pull the skin taut, it makes it much easier and less painful. or just use an epilator if wax gets too messy.
congratulations to you sister sona!!
hope you feel better farah

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Ok so i just read about this Magic Shaving Powder on this forum.
Made by Softsheen-Carson, a very fine and reputable old firm. It costs about $2.50 for 4.5 ounces. It was originally intended for African-American men, a demographic notorious for Facial Follicles with Issues, thus making shaving a really, really bad choice for men so affected.
Being made for the male face, as opposed to the female leg, means:
1) It will get rid of even the coarsest, toughest hair. To my knowledge, there is no chemical depilatory product on the market, in the US or anywhere, that can beat it.
2) It is gentle enough to put anywhere. Including the "bikini area," and yes, I do mean the entire "bikini area."
From reading people's post i think i might want to try it myself. Ladies on that forum have tried on bikini, entire face, legs, arms, and underarms and said it removes the hair and afterward the skin feels really smooth.

Well you could use amlactin, which has 12% lactic acid. Didn't sting me. I used a body brush, didn't hurt. But ingrowns there aren't really a problem for me alhamdulillah.

Wait what is it exactly? Like it burns the hair or just helps you shave? Also, where can you buy it from?
Anyways, if anyone has tried it, please let me know. Nair works okay and veet too. I wasn't impressed. Even for finer hair I didn't see a huge difference.
