Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Affa: Good to hear from you! Du'as for you and your daughter.
Asvi: Will make du'a for your sis. InshaAllah khair.
Chotoo: Aren't they going to induce you soon? What's going onnn?!
Jellymill: What the heck are cheese fries? That sounds... not very healthy.
Hebs:
Iftaar was fun today. My mom got caught up in a book she was reading and totally lost track of time (and I usually read Qur'an after Zuhr and before As'r and I got caught up in that), so we were late with the prep. We had to rush and then things got messy. It was pretty funny 'cause my dad came home right before iftaar time and my mom explained the situation and he was like "Okay, what can I do to help?" So he was helping to get things ready but my siblings weren't being helpful at all. They were just like "Okay, we can eat now!" All they do is watch the clock. Useless people. And my dad kept going "No, we can't eat. It's not time yet! Look, it's still light out. There are still 5 more mins!"
I'm getting sick. Ugh. Right before school starts too... not a good time.
Alhamdulillah though.
Also, I need pre-emptive du'as. I have a feeling things are going to go wrong soon with financial aid for university. But I'll find out Monday.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
i'm drinking milk!
so i was basically raised on skim milk (health nut parents. the ones who refuse to eat potatoes or cheese, and only cook with extremely sparing amounts of olive oil).
but lately i've been indulging in 1%. it's creamy enough to taste delicious, but light enough that you aren't consuming a lot of unnecessary fat. now i don't have to try hard to have more calcium in my diet.

whaaat? thats crazy, there's no reason you should have had to go back to the doctor in that situation. at the pharmacy they could have pulled your original prescription and fixed their error. or even if somehow they couldnt do that they should have called your doctor. thats messed up of them.
anyway, hope you feel better.
you too sidrah!

i really hope the weather turns colder soon. it's not pleasant to shower before sleeping, only to wake up several times that night soaked in sweat

Yeah, it's definitely possible. I have friends who've done it and I've mentioned that to my dad too, heh. He's just like "Maybe so, but no. Not a good idea."
But I know for sure that they want to get me married in the next 2-3 years. Whenever I'm done with school.
EDIT: It seems like whenever I meet an aunty/uncle these days, they ask "So [Timbit], how many years of school do you have left?" Kind of scary.
I'm always like "Well, one year till the B.A, and then I dunno what I want to do. A Master's maybe, so it could be three years more!" That gets them to stop being interested.

I mean I'll be done with school anyway and that's enough to adjust and have fun as a childless couple Hope that helps you.

Cool. Whatever works for you guys.

You can go online and find bonnets (try googling around, ebay...), or you can buy amira hijabs and just use the small piece. Hope that helps

Alhamdulillah Ike is moving south and won't hit us (though I'm sure we'll get rain) but I feel so bad for Haiti, they're getting slammed by a category 4 hurricane..
