Re: Female Personal Hygiene
I think i'm going to have to miss the whole ramadhan. So if/when I get better in the year do I just make up a whole month? Or do I just pay at the end of the month?!

what do you mean by pay?
The general rule is to make up all the days you missed...so in your case, a month

heres what I've heard..
people who miss their fast (due to illness, breastfeeding, pregnancy, etc etc) can pay (i.e. give zakat) & feed the poor in addition to making up their fasts.
someone correct me if I am wrong.

i've heard that if you have such a condition that prevents you from fasting year-round, and you have no other alternative, you can pay to make up for the fasts you've missed. if its not such a condition (i.e. flu/cold/etc, period, etc) then you'd have to make those fasts up.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
I love living walking distance to a masjid and being able to go to Taraweeh prayer almost every night. I love standing two hours in prayer with my back and feet hurting but still coming back for his sake. I love the sister hood of this community. I love seeing everyone come together during Ramadan. I've only been sleeping 2-3 hours every night and am in an uber good mood. Alhumdulillah.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
See i've heard a combination of all these and what made the most sense to me was that if I'm not well by the end of the month it's better to pay the zakat because you don't know if you'll get the chance to make them up... but at the same time, my illness is curable (just taking longer than planned). Let me know if any of you find out any further info. Thanks girlies.

be careful.
it started raining here. tropical rain is cool cause it's warm. but it's weird to walk outside in the rain and still feel oppressive humidity.

MashAllah. There are several kids at my school fasting - in the upper grades. I volunteered to take in a few during their lunch period. They're really good at sharpening pencils and cutting out lamination.

One year, my dad could not fast so he was told that he needed to "calculate" how much his meals cost each day. For example, say for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks etc you spent about $30 - 40, you need to multiply that amount by the number of fasting days (30) then you donate that amount. He just gave it to our masjid because they provided iftaari for people every single day.
-----
My dad shouldn't be fasting this year again, but he is. I've noticed that when you have a will to do something - purely from your heart, Allah Swt makes a way for you to do it. Alhumdulillah.
