Oh, and my feet have sudenly balooned. I gained like 6 lbs this week trying to drink tons of water to flush it out.

Ya, that's how I've been the past couple of days. This is actually the second death I heard about this weekend (although the first one is expected, he was dying from cancer) but now I fear so much for my loved ones. We should constantly make dua that Allah protect us. That's really all we can do.

Okay, I know Thursday's not far off, but feet swelling up that much isn't a good sign, I think. Can you get it checked out earlier?
I doubt you'll be going through this for two weeks though. Your doctor will probably have to induce you in that case.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
anyone seen the new ikea commercial? i thought the moms would enjoy it..
a toddler in a diaper walks out of the bathroom with those over-the-toilet-seat-potty training seat cover things made for tiny bottoms... he walks into the living room all nicely decorated with ikea furniture and plops the seat onto the living room sofa. he drops his diapers and they cut to the text.. "washable covers in every color" or something. funny stuff

just before ramadan started i kept praying that i would be blessed to actually see it and experience it again this year. life really is too short. we went to the cemetery hours before it started. the baby cemetery is the saddest. there was one for an 11 month old, another one for a 2 year old i think. ultimately everyone will die and there's nothing we can do about it. at the end of the day, just trust in Allah swt, make plenty of du'aa and do your best in this life. we will all experience the pangs of death. not even the prophet was immune from it. we all have our appointed times. i don't have a source for this but i heard that while we are in the womb, our birth, death and our rizq is decided for us and nothing will change it. we have to remember that Allah swt is merciful. only one part of his rahma is here on earth. and one thing we can control is our deeds. our deeds will determine whether our death will be painful or easy, what the situation in our graves will be, what our responses to the munkar and nakeer's questions will be in the grave, and ultimately whether we end up in jannah or hell fire. read surah mulk every night as it is supposed to ease the punishments of the grave. and do your best to put together some sort of sadaqah jariyah for yourself so that you continue to get good deeds while in the grave. may Allah swt guide us to the straight path, help us to lead righteous lives and do good deeds, take us from this life as believers, make our deaths easy for us, and have mercy on us in our graves and on the day of judgment. may He bless us with righteous children and grandchildren who continue to make du'aa for us once we have passed. may He bless all of us with jannat al firdaus. ameen.
p.s. sorry for the essay.

Reason: surah mulk, not muzammil. my brain thought one thing and fingers typed another. :o
