lol, I like squash! And I like playing badminton too but I suck at ALL of them
On a more serious note, I really do wish there was a ladies only pool or something around my area. Swimming is like a total body workout, no other exercise needed....I walked by a pool today and felt like diving straight in and doing some laps. Imagine doing something since you were 3 or 4 and going cold turkey all of a sudden (cuz of hijab)...I miss swimming

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
I suck at all of them too. But that's okay, 'cause I still have fun playing.
I dunno how to swim, so I dunno that feeling... but there's probably a pool nearby that has some women-only hours.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
^ Timbit I live in a small town and attend school in another small town so we don't have anything like that. Closest place with womens-only pools/hours would be near Chicago (2+ hrs away). The ladies at the masjid rent the pool for a couple of hours for a night every few weeks and though it's fun, it's not enough to be used as a regular workout.
Inshallah when I'm filthy rich I'm going to have a pool and a horse because horseback riding is another thing I miss a lot . Anywho 'tis naptime, I'm soooo tired. Goodnight fph

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Allah azzwajal helps us in the most wonderful ways. al hamdoulilah ya Rub. sincere dua goes a long way, atleast thats what i learned. i so didn't want to deal with this kind of people for numerous ways despite of how close of a family friends they're..
my parents have told them 'no' several times over the phone in a firm and 'indirect' way. they kept saying, 'oh its my son's turn now, our daughter is young and stuff', may be b/c they didn't want things to get sore/awkward btwn the families. if i were them (rishta boy's family), i'd have got the hint. as bizzare some of our tradiitions can be, elder generations don't understand things at first few times. when we rejected the rishta SEVERAL TIMES they think either im being coy or my family is playing hard to get. like wth. they still insisted to come over with their boy. lol. and my parents being the most wonderful hosts ever, they received them as best as they can. i didn't want to come out as arrogant girl, so my intentions were to meet the family regardless as i'd with any other 'non rishta guests'.
afra: i met a nun. first time EVER, i see a nun who is fully dressed like a typical nun, you knw the totally black clothes and the hijab thing (watever their hijab is called)..if i didn't have my glasses on, i'd have mistaken her for a full hijabi..so anyways, apparently, she was coming towards me and when she noticed me (aka a hijab with almost modestly dressed) , she said "asalamu alykum"

Asvi and her husband make a very beautiful couple, as do Sona and Feef. MashaAllah. Don't remember if I've seen Tumiyia's husband. Tdotgirl and her husband are also supercute together.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Zakku and her husband too, of course (and the kids, MashaAllah).
Foozio and her man.
Shadha and her "stinker."
Okay, who'm I missing?

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Uh, Zakku Aunty...
I just noticed your signature in another thread, and I posted about it, but then thought maybe it's a discussion more appropriate for FPH.
Hot dog or cheeseburger?
That's almost as bad as Dan Savage's recent simile (dropped canned ham).
3 days till the comment in your signature changes. I should have my own countdown.
EDIT: Fatima, you were missed.
Please go check the Ask a Doctor thread and answer my question about medications, as I think only a pharmacist could.

I was supposed to but my financial aid papers got messed up(again). i'A khair there's always winter quarter. I contimpliated taking a loan but seeing how I don't have a job and don't when i'll be getting one, I'd rather not get into more debt. What classes are you taking?
Thanks ladies. , who's excited for ramadhan?!

Tee-hee.
Yeah, student loans suck. You're better off not taking any. It's good that you're going for the financially/Islamically viable option.
Tuition fees suck, as do financial woes. A friend of mine just got kicked out of all her classes 'cause she didn't pay the tuition fees on time. Kind of annoying.
InshaAllah khair though! Let's hope you get in in the winter semester. And at least you'll have lots of time to be productive in Ramadan.
