lucky, mA. that's happened to a lot of girls I know.. unfortunately, hasn't worked for me. I've come to the conclusion that nothing will ever get my acne/acne marks to go away. sigh. izzaface:

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
I'm trying to convince myself that I'm not hungry, especially because I actually ate breakfast this morning and it's too early for lunch, but it's not working. I'm hungry all the time lately. grrrr.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Why does acne clear up after marriage?
I mean, if it's 'cause you're not sexually frustrated anymore, then doesn't masturbation have the same effect? And then why do non-Muslims have acne?

I'll still try. My husband and everyone is talking to me like the two weeks I'll spend there will be the worst two weeks of my life. THey keep telling me that everyone we meet will hate me becuase I'm American and I'm not pretty. There aren't any real tourist destinations for me to see, especially not with the security situation, if I want to go out, people will try and feel me up even though I'll be wearing an abaya and niqab. I won't be able to eat anything, and anything I do eat will make me deathly ill. There isn't time to do shopping anyway, so I should be prepared just to stay in their family home the whole trip. Really the only reason he's taking me is becuase his dad requested that I come, and i shouldn't ever think of going again becuase Pakistan, especially where he's from, is only one small step up from Afghanistan, and is the worst place in the world.
Okay, I exagerated slightly, but it gives you an idea of the "preparation" they are trying to give me.

haha, i dont think that sexual frustration has that much to do with it.. it depends on your marriage, but for me it was lack of stress, moving to a different city (better water, for sure.. where i used to live, the water was so disgusting), and adopting different eating habits.. finally stopped eating that junk i used to feast on in college

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
I'm having a terrible period. Everything, going downwards from my stomach is in pain. This morning, I got out of bed and there was...this...huuuge downpoar. blood everywhere. and every time i sit down and then make to stand up again, i get the same, disgusting feeling that my insides are haemorrhaging. this hasn't really happened before. my periods were polite and well-behaved during their monthly visits. and now...now, i'm on painkillers and wincing every time i get up or sit down. urgh.

ok, two weeks is more than ample time to do some basic shopping. and is this your first trip to pakistan?
and I've been to both india and pakistan and some of the points they make are true.. as a white girl (I'm white too, so yea), you will STAND OUT and you will get stared at until you get so sick of it that you want to punch the next person who even glances at you, I got stared at even when in niqab. I also got my butt grabbed when I was in pakistan.. so it's best to go out with a male relative.
and you'll probably get sick there, but everyone does because our system isn't used to the bacteria over there, so it sucks, but it won't just be happening to you. don't eat the food from the streets, but you should be ok to eat at the nicer end restaurants.
and even if they're no real 'tourists spots', if it's your first time to pakistan, there will be TONS to see just because everything is so different from life over here.
but yea, just bug your husband until he takes you out.. and tell him you're not fooled, that two weeks is more than enough time to get some clothes.
