A lot of changes going on and I'm gonna have a crazy schedule this semester....plus Peace Corps in Sept 09 inshallah and I want to attend Zaytuna in between graduation and Peace Corps but that might be taking too much onto my plate in such a short time ..

Well anyway.. Ramadan is cooommiiiiing!!!
You're doing peacecorps? I was just thinking of that or americorps.

Yes inshallah. You should totally look into it, I've read sooo many Peace Corps volunteers' stories and it seems like an AMAZING life-changing experience Plus, it doesn't hurt your resume in the long run

My friend did peacecorps a few years ago. Went to Hawaii and everything.
I'm definitely looking into it. I signed up for Habitat for Humanity but they didn't have any projects in my area at the time.

Sisters please. The situation looks critical.

I'm already on such an emotional roller coaster right now. I don't know how much more stress I can take. I HATE people, seriously! I HATE racist midwest people who don't want to believe the truth because a brown person is saying it.

Hubby and I were discussing this (totally pointless thing) but it's made me curious... The sideview mirror on cars usually says "Objects in mirror are closer than they appear." There is no punctuation in that sentence so how do you interpret that?

a. it looks closer in the mirror and further when viewed with the naked eye

OR

b. it looks further away in the mirror and closer to the naked eye

They are closer in reality than they appear in the mirror. How can you misinterpret that?
There's no punctuation 'cause there's none needed. Where would you put a punctuation mark in that sentence?

haha I've totally thought about this too.

my dad tried to explain this to me the other day.

Driver side mirrors are planar and passenger side mirrors are convex (they need to be because the driver is farther away from the passenger side mirror).

having it convex kinda "compresses" the images.

so things look smaller in the mirror than they do in reality.

so in the mirror, cars may look farther behind you than they actually are in reality.

hope that helps

that's what I thought too.. A was my argument: "objects in mirror are closer than they appear (IN THE MIRROR)" while he said "objects in mirror are closer than they (REALLY) appear"

Can't wait to tell hubby

haha, this sounds like my relationship with my own sister (except i'm in your sister's place). i'll PM you about it.
