Yeah. We usually read for about 20 minutes. Half an hour at the most. His attention span isn't that long.
Or we'll play a memory game or he'll practice writing (his name, the alphabet, numbers sometimes) or drawing (and then writing a sentence about the picture) or we'll do something together on the computer. I just got the flashcards yesterday and we did those today.
I'm pretty sure his teachers don't have time to work with them individually. That's why we have to do that at home.
EDIT: I found some helpful websites, but okay, I'll PM you, InshaAllah.

Ok. I should clarify. They don't work individually with the child one-on-one, but the teacher should be putting the students in small groups based on their abilities. Students with similar abilities will be in the same group, so when the teacher pulls that group, all of the students in the group can benefit from whatever activity the teacher has planned to address their needs. At one of my placements during student teaching, the school had at least 45 minutes a day dedicated to small group workshop. During that time, the teacher would pull one group at a time while the other students were working at different centers. Where I am now, we have a similar system; however, I am not sure how long the entire small group block lasts.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
i need to spend more time talking to and being around and hanging out with all the amazing people i know rather than those who completely lack tact and jump at every opportunity to disrespect me. such people dont deserve an ounce of my nice amazing company and my breath is too precious to be wasted on them.
ugh. i'm so pissed off.

"'What about these knickers then, what are they doing in our bed and whose are they', she asked thinking to herself, this will be good. She wasn't disappointed, as blatant as lies go, it was a classic. 'Sorry love, I've been meaning to tell you for years but I am a closet transvestite and they are mine'. "

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
So at the wedding yesterday, I basically left my purse unattended the entire night, having to run around do wedding-ish things and whatnot... and so when I pulled out my phone for the time I noticed one miss call from someone I didn't know. But then someone who is clearly technologically-stupid (for lack of a better term) decided to call back the number. It's weird because a) my phone was on silent and b) they called back this number exactly one hour later from the time I received this call. I'm going to see how long this phone conversation was once I get my phone bill... I'm glad I have free evenings. =p
Being the paranoid person that I am, I didn't feel comfortable leaving my purse on the table but all of my cousins and whatnot left them there too so I figured why not. I thought I could trust the people at the wedding because it is family after all, but clearly not. People are weird. And they need to mind their own business.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Girls, I remember several pages ago, a few of you talking about Tazorac. Someone once suggested that I try it out. Its pretty pricey without insurance. Anyway, I was thinking about trying it. Can you girls please repost your experience with Tazorac? And does it have any similar side effects as those other acne treatments like Acutane etc? And which is the better the gel or the cream?

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
- Mubarak Zakk!!
- Duas for everyone else who needs them
- May Allah (swt) grant all the single girls pious husbands and fill their marriage with love, rahma, and sakeena. Ameen.
- Training sucks. They're working me like a dog [14 hour days with barely any breaks] and on our "free time" we have to make posters/bulletin boards.
- Im sick as a dog..I want to sit in a corner and cry
- Ya Allah please accept my duas this Ramadan and let it all work out, iA
Alh.
