Re: Female Personal Hygiene
Thanks everyone I really appreciate it.
Everyone around me laughed when I told them about him. Insh'Allah I will pray, talk to my parents etc.
I've met so many guys who look good on paper but are complete morons. Its always nice to meet someone who you'd gladly live in a mud hut with...

I think that depends on where you are living and the lifestyle you like to maintain. I know a lot of people that have grown up more than comfortably on incomes less than 70k.

for a starter it is pretty good, i mean of course inshallah he'll make more in the future but for a startup he's pretty well off....
serendipity, inshallah try talkin to your parents and telling them how much this means to you and inshallah theyll start to realize that if you're happy then thats all that matters.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
i also think $70K is a Good salary. and i 3rd what farah said.
serendipity comes from a wealthy background, so that's why her family is against it i think. i dunno.. serendipity if you think you can live off 70K then go for it.

Yea, this is like the 3rd time I'm probably going to have a quarrel with my family over a perfectly great guy, who just happens to have a lower income. I'm so sick of arguing over the same things. My parents don't even want me to like a guy with a beard....
|
Asalamu Alaikum,
Lol @ the beard part, my mom is kindof like that too.
Anyways, of course make istikharaa' before you approach your parents. The best thing is to come up with more reasons than him being a great guy, and logically bring your parents down, compare him to past prospective male suitors that you didn't like to compare what he has that others had lacked.
When you like somebody, you should really understand to an extent why, not just because you click, but what are his qualities and attributes that single him out as exceptional. (I'm sure you already have those qualities singled out)
If you truly believe he has a solid proof character that your parents can't dismiss than inshaAllah you will always have a strong case. However, what Allah(swt) has in plan for you is a completely different matter , so remember this part of the istikharaa dua..
O Allah! In Your Knowledge if this action is bad for me, bad for my religion and faith, for my life and end for here and the hereafter then turn it away from me and turn me away from it and whatever is better for me, ordain [destine] that for me and then make me satisfied with it."
I pray that the best happens for you! Good luck!
Fi AmanAllah
