anyone had similar experiences? What brand did you settle on finally? I was thinking of trying Yaz but I've heard that's pricey too w/o insurance

do not EVER take yaz!!!! its evil!!!!
i took yaz and i seriously think it made me crazy. Its supposedly the lowest dose of hormones on the market, but it is horrible. I had a constant headache. I have problems with migraines as it is, but when I was on yaz, the migraines felt like death. I literally would start doing istaghfar because I thought I was going to die laying in bed. On the days other than migraine days, I'd just have this dull pain in my head that never goes away. One day I forgot to take the pill and so I doubled the next day and I dont even know what happened to me. I kept sobbing uncontrollably. When my mom came home and saw me she was like It's not until later that I discovered it may be because of the pills, so I started researching online and YAZ is like..famous for making girls go nuts. A lot of people have ended up in therapy after taking it. I have 3 friends that took YAZ and all 3 stopped taking it for the same reason as I did: it messes with your brain.

one thing i've heard my husband say repeatedly during patient counseling: if you miss a dose, never double the dose, lol
jellymill, i'm surprised your insurance doesn't cover bcp! hmm.. i wonder what's more expensive for them in the long run, birth control or pregnancy, birth, and an additional dependent?

really? thats actually what is recommended to do, double up. as far as i know, at least.
and a lot of insurance plans dont cover bpc's. i think its dumb too, but they consider them 'lifestyle medications'.

Two days of New Teacher Induction and the only "thing" that has stuck with me is this quote:

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
alhumdulillah, i didn't have any problem with any of the bcp's that i've tried. i was especially cocerned about having to deal with breakthrough bleeding but alhumdulillah, it didn't happen. and yes, they do recommend doubling up the dose it you missed it once. you're supposed to take two the next day. but that's bcp dosing if you're using it as a contraceptive... i'm not sure what they recommend for people who take it for other reasons like acne, PMDD etc.
i love reading. i don't know what i'd do without books. i finished two on hajj and right now i'm doing a chick-lit before starting the third one on hajj, inshaAllah.
white fonting makes me feel so FPHy. i wish i could do it like all the time.

Re: Female Personal Hygiene
i think double dosing for the bcp is the same for other reasons like acne and stuff as it is for contraceptive uses. i know some people that had to use it for acne and if they missed a dose they had to double it the next day.

Yeah, I think so too..cuz the box for yaz actually says that if you start 4 days late you should double up for 2 days and then take one pill a day after that.
I think some people, like me, just dont go well with birth control pills. I can't imagine which birth control would suit me, considerign Yaz is the lowest dose, and I am just very sensetive to hormonal fluctuations as it is. Some womens bodies just dont take well to added hormones, I guess.
My sister took mericette tho, and she liked it, so maybe you can try that.
