LIRR but it depends where on long island you are, because I am way east and it costs me $22.50 to get to manhattan round trip. The closer you are to NYC the less it would cost obviously.

Same with distance from Jackson Heights. There are places on Long Island that your backyard is queens, and then there's my house, which is about 35 minutes away(no traffic).

The good thing about Long Island is that the highway system makes it so that no place is more than 30 minutes away, no matter where you are going. My dads office is a 2 towns over, and that takes 30 minutes. Roosevelt Field Mall is in another county alltogether and WAY out west, but that only takes 30 minutes too. No matter how far away something is, it will always take about 35 minutes.

There's really nothing to see here. I remember when I was younger we went to old bethpage, which would be good if you like history. It's really nothing you would come specifically out to LI for, but if you're here, I guess you could go there.

Tumiyia: Who else would you have known at a Pearl Jam concert anyway? Nobody could talk if they never saw you in the first place.

Do you know where she lives? Or can you find out?

JazakAllah everyone .

I've preoccupied myself with "my" classroom. I feel weird saying that. Yesterday, my mom and I went to the mall. A Boscov's (similar to Macys) is going out of business in our area. I bought a wicker-looking rocking chair from there. Its actually made out of resin, so it'll be more durable iA, but I got a nice deal. Only $50! It was regularly $130.

Zakk, do you have any other contact information for her? InshAllah she's ok .

It sounds like you had a good time, Alh. Reading all of your talk about concerts and an FPH chat from the other night has reminded me of the fact that I've never been to a concert before . I was dragged to a Desi one as a child, but I was really young and very forced to go.

I'm trying to figure out how to contact her... I found another number from an old old website, and I left a message there, I'm going to keep trying. I guess I'll google to see if I can find an address.

How long has it been since she was supposed to come and hasn't called? Maybe it's a family emergency, inshallah she's okay. Maybe something silly happened like she flushed her phone down the toilet or lost it or something. Hopefully it's nothing serious

I drove all the way back to my apartment today to meet this girl who wanted to see it. She was 30 minutes late, then her demeanor made it pretty obvious that she's reluctant. She said "it's a lot nicer than the last place I saw" but I think she's not sure about the rent (it's 375). I also put an ad in the online classifieds of the student paper but so far no calls.. *sigh*

Haha I did the same exact thing when I was about 10 years old, except with an orange. I seriously thought I had cut off my finger.
