Aunty and uncle were reluctant to take her, but she said that she wanted to go for the event. In the past, she never wanted to go to Pakistan - she'd say "What if something happened to me while I was there?" Anyway, she was coming back with her dad when she got really ill. She passed away in a German hospital. SubhanAllah. I can't even imagine what her family is feeling. May Allah Swt forgive the sins she committed knowingly and unknowingly. May she be accepted into Jannat-ul-Firdose. May Allah grant her family peace during this most difficult of times .

insha Allah both she and her parents/family get the highest level in Jannah. I cant imagine how hard that is to deal with. Subhanallah...there's always reminders around us when we(meaning ME, amina) are whining about stupid stuff--somebody else is going through MUCH worse.

ameen to all the dua's

---

I was supposed to be in bed a while ago but I can't sleep. I keep thinking about this...

I mentioned before in here that my sister stopped wearing hijab. Over time I've gotten used to it etc etc, no big deal. Now it's the hot topic of the century for our small community. In the bigger picture I think, let them talk...I've had those people gossip about me before too. The thing is though, my sister can't even go to Jumu'ah prayer without getting glared at by everybody, especially the desi aunty clique....they already exclude my mom because she's a convert, now this?! When I went to Jumu'ah last week they were all so sweet to me and basically shunning my sister. I wanted to punch them. We've been suspecting stuff going on but it was confirmed today when my sister saw a mutual Muslimah friend of ours who revealed a bit, but not much because her mother is clearly in on the rumor-spreading.

Basically when I was younger and started practicing around age 15/16 I became involved in the community doing various things. So now I guess the talk is "gasp! how did her sister go so wrong?" Ugh. She removed hijab, she's not dressing like a sl.ut or standing on a street corner, she is still the same person! Besides, why are all these old people discussing the life of an 18 year old? When I was 16/17 they were spreading rumors that I was involved with some 27 year old guy; it was the "scandal" of the masjid and I didn't even know about these lies until much after the fact. Some desi aunties can be the most evil and vicious people on earth, I hate them

Basically when I was younger and started practicing around age 15/16 I became involved in the community doing various things. I didn't know til later but was apparently the coveted "catch" for all the aunties...now that I look back I do remember lots of aunties talking to me discreetly about their sons, nephews and such. So now I guess the talk is "gasp! how did her sister go so wrong?" Ugh. She removed hijab, she's not dressing like a sl.ut or standing on a street corner, she is still the same person! yeah they are. but dont let them get to you. when i first started wearing hijab, people made such a big deal over it. I would be the ONLY hijabi in the room and they would start talking about how *all* hijabis are "corrupt" (tell me what thats supposed to mean!) No matter what you do, people will talk. If you start hijab, they'll talk...if you take it off, they'll talk. And sadly, the first thing people attack on a girl is her character. But whatever...it doesnt matter, because time proves them wrong. This world will always find something to gossip about. Trust me..people will always find something to complain about, and insha Allah your sister puts hijab back on, but in the meantime, just make dua for the aunties, and dont let them get to you.

this song is so cute (sad cute)

Frou Frou - Let Go

drink up, baby down
mmm, are you in or are you out
leave your things behind
'cause it's all going off without you
excuse me, too busy you're writing your tragedy
these mishaps
you bubble wrap
when you've no idea what you're like

so let go, jump in
oh well, whatcha waiting for
it's alright
'cause there's beauty in the breakdown
so let go, just get in
oh, it's so amazing here
it's alright
'cause there's beauty in the breakdown

it gains the more it gives
and then it rises with the fall
so hand me that remote
can't you see that all that stuff's a sideshow

such boundless pleasure
we've no time for later now
you can't await your own arrival
you've 20 seconds to comply

so let go, jump in
oh well, whatcha waiting for
it's alright
'cause there's beauty in the breakdown
so let go, just get in
oh, it's so amazing here
it's alright
'cause there's beauty in the breakdown

JazakAllah girls . I just feel really down; I can't get my mind off of it. Long before she was born, her family lived in our house for three years. I babysat her older brother and sister. I went to Quran class, Sunday school, and middle and high school with her cousins. My family basically knows her entire khandan (extended family) really well. It just makes me hurt for them.

Timbit: Yeah most aren't, but I didn't know if she was or was not before making the duaa. Sorry .

1. inna lillahi wa inna ilahi rajioon..that's just..horrid..i dunno how they're holding up i would be an absolute mess. inshallah khair..

2. survey asking for money is a sign. :P

3. this is where i got party favors for my SIL's baby shower: Wedding Favors, Bridal Shower Favors, Party Favors by Beau-coup

4. i had an awesome amazing birthday weekend, minus drama here and there. first, i was taken to a spa for a two hour long massage..thought i'd hate it but i fell asleep at the end. teehee. then i was thrown a surprise party by my friends. then i saw fooz and tj the next day for pizza and dessert (even though i hate them for not bringing me a cake..selfish bastards). then a bunch of us had a big bbq for lunch, which was followed by an aweeeesome music festival - radiohead and the roots were the main bands that night. and then finally, yesterday we all went out for Fat Fest 2008 in jackson heights...for a brunch of super greasy cholay and halwa poori.
