my own Mother tells me so, I weigh about 135-37 pounds BUT Im like 5'4 so it stacks up....I practice yoga but only once a week, I dont want to look like a tooth pick but I would like to lose 10 pounds....has anyone found any particular thing to work for them (specific kinds of work outs etc.)

Re: Weight Issues
Do you really need to lose weight? Or is societal/peer/family pressure?
Try concentrating on bettering your health and fitness through balanced diet, exercise, and relaxation, rather than focusing on losing x amount of pounds.

Re: Weight Issues
You sound like you're at a good weight for your height. But if you really wanna lose a few pounds, then just eat better and exercise. At least half an hour of cardio everyday.

Re: Weight Issues
you're more than likely not overweight at all...
you need to go to a gym or wherever you can find a body fat calculator and get an analysis done. if you're within 21 - 24% (which im willing to bet you are) you're completely fine
HOWEVER, that does NOT give you a license to an inactive lifestyle at all because if someone sticks to lets say, a set amount of calories/a set diet for a whole year, as well as a set lifestyle (i.e. equal amount of physical exertion/activity) on a daily basis, add/subtract NOTHING, then they might still gain 10 lbs/year
you should work out..30 mins of cardio, 30 mins of weight/resistance training 3x a week, and 30 mins of cardio the remaining days
after a month you will most likely fit into a smaller pair of jeans, but also see a ~2 lb increase on the scale. but when you do your body fat, it will have gone down. so you see, the scale isnt really a lot of help for people like you

Well, like everyone is saying - key is cardio and balanced diet. But I hate cardio - I understand the pain. I find what works best for me is doing something that I enjoy too... like instead of running around a track (hate), I ride my bike as fast and far as I can (I'm coo with that). Or I ride it to work if it's summer... or other things like I go dancing a lot... that's fun.
I think if you can make it fun AND hard, and make it a serious routine (every day at 5 for example) then you'll do it.
It also helps a lot to have a goal, so put it down in writing.
