well i saw a travel show once on cairo, i think it was on pbs, and the people puffing away on hookahs said it was safer than smoking cigarettes. |

I always wondered about smoking and Arabs,too. I think it's just that some people offer cigarettes as a kind of gift to a host, astaghfirullah. A lot of Arabs smoke because if your friend offers you and you say no, he might get offended. But I don't think most Arabs think like that-I mean many scholars say it's haraam, so of course a person can refuse to take something haram.
Also in Arab countries literacy is pretty low so I think there's less knowledge about the harms of smoking. But Arabs have always had high smoking rates-it's the way it is, but it'll change inshaAllah. |

I lvoe how you try to justify your way of life with the same "study for y9ourself" line. Teh vast majority do study for themselves..but was there any subkject you truly learned witout a teacher of some sort? I high;y doubt it...so chillax on the judgements.

My friend Mark said that he saw a ninja totally uppercut some kid just because the kid opened a window.
