Curvy women may be a clever bet

Women with curvy figures are likely to be brighter than waif-like counterparts and may well produce more intelligent offspring, a US study suggests.
Researchers studied 16,000 women and girls and found the more voluptuous performed better on cognitive tests - as did their children.

The bigger the difference between a woman's waist and hips the better.

Researchers writing in Evolution and Human Behaviour speculated this was to do with fatty acids found on the hips.

In this area, the fat is likely to be the much touted Omega-3, which could improve the woman's own mental abilities as well as those of her child during pregnancy.

Men respond to the double enticement of both an intelligent partner and an intelligent child, the researchers at the Universities of Pittsburgh and California said.

The findings appear to be borne out in the educational attainments of at least one of the UK's most famous curvaceous women, Nigella Lawson, who graduated from Oxford.

But experts are not convinced by the findings.

"On the fatty deposits being related to intelligence front, it's very hard to detangle that from other factors, such as social class, for instance, or diet," said Martin Tovee of Newcastle University.

"And much as we logically like the idea that men are interested in the waist to hip ratio, it actually features relatively low down the list of feature males look for in a potential partner."

there are a few parts of the study i have some problems with

first, theres no formal study of bra size which seems like a major omission in an investigation of this nature.

The authors theorize that upper body fat provides deficient amounts of the fatty acids that supposedly make people smarter while lower body fat provides them in good amounts. So they should have correlated intelligence to cup size along with waist to hip ratio, or at least controlled for bust size when performing their analysis.

I think that is an area that requires further research and i may have to begin designing such a study

secondly, the biological mechanism they propose has never been validated and certainly never proven

third, studies on NHANES data like this one are often fishing expeditions, and when they say that there was a significant difference between one group and another, they mean statistically significant (due to the gigantic sample) but the practical significance of the difference may not be perceptible or important.

finally, looking at the size of women's butts in NHANES is basically a way to do a study that should have been done already but would be very expensive and probably pointless. Specifically, it isnt the size of their butts that supposedly makes their babies smarter. Its the fact that big butts seem to have more omega 3s in them and omega 3 supplementation to the fetus supposedly leads to smarter kids. So this can be studied definitively with a randomized contolled trial. Supplement some pregnant women with omega 3 fatty acids through their pregnancies, while another group of women are not given the fatty acids (and both groups are given similar diets). 5 years after their kids are born, IQ test them.

As far as I know, the issue of omega 3s and IQ has been studied and there is no compelling evidence on it, just alot of small, weak, and contradictory trials.

Anyway, not to sound like a lesbian or anything, but Salma is Allahu Akbar gorgeous. Her breasts are certainly voluptuous and in all honesty beautiful. I'd venture to say she has the ideal large breasts. Large yet not sagging down her stomach. Speaking of her stomach, she has a gorgeous figure. Gorgeous face, gorgeous breasts, and a gorgeous figure. Her acting is good too.

Agreed. Curvy is like Beyonce. Toned stomach but with thick hips and booty. However, her weight is forever fluctuating, and at some times she does look like she could lose a couple pounds. Tyra also has a great figure, she too is also curvy, though she could tone up her stomach more.
