Re: Weirdest Thing You Ever Ate
Pye is made out of sheep or cow's feet - the hoof and the fatty tissue that surrounds it gives it that sticky gloopy texture. Yuk!

Oh, you call it pye too. Is that a Punjabi thing?
Everybody else on here is going "paya" and talking about joints and bones and brains.
And tongues and eyes seem gross.

it wasn't as gross as I expected but it was gross all the same. I don't ever see myself having it again.

oyster is definitely an acquired taste. but once it's acquired, you'll wonder why you didn't start eating it earlier there was a time when i thought i would never eat raw oyster, but then i was at this nice brunch buffet, and maaan, oysters on the half shell with lemon and tabasco = something amazing.
i'll eat seafood in pretty much any state. i made a shrimp ceviche (raw shrimp "cooked" in lemon and lime juice) just the other day; delicious.
of course there's sushi, but i think that more people consider that normal nowadays.
i've eaten cicada, but it was mashed up into teeny tiny bits and baked in bread, so really it was just like eating bread (it was in my biology class when we had that huge cicada season).
i guess "weirdest thing" depends on your perspective, really.

Re: Weirdest Thing You Ever Ate
Chitlins were so disgusting That I converted to Islam...
Not really but It...could've happened
They were nasty though...
Its been a while so I can't remember the taste...
Just the feeling of Pure and utter disgust...
Pig entrails can do that to ya...

You should be very careful with raw seafood. Lots of nasty bugs floating around. I know of one prominent surgeon who died a few days after an oyster dinner of liver failure from Hepatitis A (common with raw oysters).

Re: Weirdest Thing You Ever Ate
I always think there's something fundamentally wrong about eating oysters - isn't it like eating a giant bogey? (booger for you Americans)

Re: Weirdest Thing You Ever Ate
I once turned into cheesecake and then promptly ate myself.
