TYPHOO? 2 ex housemtes and I had constant debates about this, one likes PG tips the other had a huge box of typhoo. I had to taste them both and concluded that typhoo definitely tastes funny. Like bad bitterness. PG tips all the way!

What herb do they put in tea at Persian restaurants? It's not mint, nor does it seems like basil. Any ideas?

I love tea! my turkish friends make this awsome tea...not to sweet and not to bitter...just perfect ..i go over there and end up drinking like 8 or 9 cups.

and tea with milk is gross...too much like coffee and coffee is nasty.

I'm gunna guess that it's cardomom, since that's what Afghani's put in tea, and Afghani cuisine has a heavey persian influence.

Could be wrong though.

It's not cardamom (I'm desi, I have jars and jars of cardamom at home, lol)...the leaves of this plant are actually kind of "fuzzy" I'm thinking it might be a type of sage or salvia...a Persian friend had it growing in her garden, but had no idea what it was called in English. She gave me a cutting of it, and it's growing in our garden. In the spring, it gets tiny pinkish-lilac flowes on it.

So today I tried Numi's White Orange Spice Tea and it was the worst tea I've ever had. yucky bitter taste. Couldn't take more than 2 sips, even though I added honey.

I agree with Aryan...

English breakfast is by far one of the bests. They have great sense of taste in teas, biscuits, croissants, etc. whereas North Americans are glued to coffee and donuts.

I dont get the orange and spice combination fullstop. I tried Green and Blacks fairtraide orange and spice chocolate, it tasted like medicine . Why did only the yucky one have to be fairtrade ?

I like the typical desi style black tea except instead of sugar I use honey and instead of regular milk I use evaporated milk. Sometimes I add a small mint leaf or a piece of cinnamon to the boiling water

There's this place on campus called Espresso Royale. I get their black iced tea with mango syrup. It's soooooo awesome, I had it twice last week. I'm looking forward to trying their other syrups but not for now cuz the weather is cooooold and I want summa that first stuff I mentioned
