Tried it. Came out nice, but a bit too sweet and rich for my liking. My younger brother liked it though. Next time I might try adding a bit of flour into the recipe and see how that turns out. Also, the recipe called for peanuts, I used walnuts along with reduced fat peanut butter.
Enough talk, here are the pictures.

Re: The Art of Baking
you guys are making me feel guilty..
I always eat my baked goods, I mean I bake for my family and all but I'm also guilty of midnight baking and eating
I don't think I do it often enough to get fat though, and I cook pretty healthful foods I guess.....
anyway if I start getting fat you guys can say I told you so

After reading your post, I tried these cookies also. Problem is, I substituted honey for the sugar and they were too runny, so I added "white whole wheat" flour... But I think I added too much b/c they were really rubbery. I had to throw them away. I may try again with splenda and no flour.

I've never substituted honey for sugar when baking. Never thought of that, hmm. Let us know how the second try goes .
While we're on the cookie topic these tasted so much better the next day. Didn't taste as rich or sweet the following evening. Yum. I think I'll keep this recipe .

Re: The Art of Baking
Assalamu Alaikum,
Does anyone have a recipe for halal rice crispies treats?
And how do you ensure that cookies come out chewy, rather than crispy or crunchy? Do you have to add some particular ingredient? Or do something special?
Does anyone have an easy (preferably no bake) recipe with masrshmallows (other than smores)
 This is my first time making anything, I literally never even turned on a stove or oven and I want to make some deserts for my big brother and he only likes chewy cookies and my little bro loves rice crispies treats, so I want to make some for him. PLEASE HELP!!!

rice krispies treats:
INGREDIENTS
* 3 tablespoons butter
* 1 (10 ounce) package halal marshmallows
* 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
DIRECTIONS
1. Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
2. Add cereal. Stir until well coated.
3. Using buttered spatula or waxed paper, press mixture evenly into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cut into 2-inch squares when cool. Best if served the same day.
if you can't find halal marshmallows then you can use marshmallow fluff and you wont have to heat it up or anything.
as for cookies, take them out of the oven a minute or two early and that should make them soft and chewy. also using butter and not crisco/margarine helps

Lucky. If I bake anything they usually end up vanishing before they cool down and I've had a chance to eat any

if you can't get ahold of halal marshmallows, you can simply use marshmallow cream (look for it in the baking aisle); it doesn't have gelatin in it. the recipe off the box of rice krispies works perfectly.
for chewy cookies remember to always use real butter and not margarine and dark brown sugar instead of light brown sugar (if the recipe calls for brown sugar). if your cookie dough is a little soft and the cookies spread out too much in the oven (test out one batch first), refrigerate it for a while and instead of spooning it onto the cookie sheet, roll each piece of cookie dough into a ball and place it on the cookie sheet (helps it from spreading out too much so the center stays chewy).

holy moly (this applies to those cannolis as well, hardy har har). so do you have an audience for all that stuff? homemade buttercream is the ultimate in cake additions, btw. at least in my book.
