asvi and sugarcore, thanks!!!!

Asvi: i basically used two different recipes consdering i used a betty crocker brownie mix to make the brownies due to lack of time before iftaar and adding in cooling time, but for the cheesecake batter i used a simple recipe and didnt follow the brownie batter part:

BLACK AND WHITE CHEESECAKE BROWNIES

1 (12 oz.) pkg. (2 c.) semi-sweet mini morsels, divided
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. all-purpose flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt over hot (not boiling) water, 1 1/4 cups mini morsels; stir until smooth. Set aside.
In large bowl, combine sugar and butter; beat until creamy. Add eggs, vanilla and salt; mix well. Add chocolate and flour; mix well. Spread into greased 9 inch square baking pan.

CHEESECAKE TOPPING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. butter, softened
2 eggs
2 tbsp. milk
1 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. almond extract
3/4 c. mini morsels

In small bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar and butter; beat until creamy. Add eggs, milk, flour and almond extract; beat well. Stir in remaining mini morsels. Pour over brownie base. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Cool completely. Makes 16 brownies.

also, after topping the cheesecake layer on top of the brownie bottom layer, i took a knife and cut S's through the batter so it'd marbelize the batter, (but not too much!!), and then before putting it in the oven (yes i thought of this randomly because the cheesecake part looked too empty to me and i just HAD the urge to fill it up with SOMETHING! haha), i took 3 pecan sandies and crushed them into small bits and sprinkled them all over the batter before popping them into the oven...

ALSO, dont keep the brownies in for the full 40-45 minutes like the recipe above says, mine got done in 25. but it also depends on your oven, mine is pretty fast so 25 minuts was enough for mine....

I'm making basboosa. here's what it's supposed to look like:
Qut al Butun Recipe Photo Detail - Community - Allrecipes

It might end up funny though, cuz I didn't have semolina flour so I used cornmeal, and the batter didn't seem quite right.

cornmeal is too coarse. if you don't have semolina, you can use cream of wheat (for future info)

you bake them until they're soft, make a length wise cut down the centers, scoop out the potato, mix the potato with whatever you want, fill the empty potato skins with the mixture, wrap in foil, rebake.

What displaced said. I made my own garlic sauce instead of using sour cream and I added onions with garlic sautéed with butter.

I combined two recipes together, but this was the main one.
