Re: The Art of Baking
I'll post pictures of it once I figure out why photobucket isn't working.
EDIT: I finally got it, but I had to crop the picture so much.

Assalaamu Alaikum
I had my last cake decorating class for Course 2 over the weekend ... I'm dying to take Coruse 3 but this is the busy wedding month so I gotta wait till after I get married!
Here's the final project ... we had to assemble all the flowers we made during the past classes onto the cake!

dude. butter is good. and it's probably better for you than margarine (margarine has nasty trans fats). plus, the texture/taste of butter, especially in baked goods, cannot be replaced by anything.

Are you asking about the cheese part or the milk part? For the "milk" use half and half (you can even add a little heavy cream to it), and simmer it for an hour or more, until it reduces by half. The liquid will have that nice thickness that most people like.

haha Shadha ... thank you so much! The wedding day is just around the corner, insha'Allah! Last weekend of April ... Still so much to get done!! Well, to make a long story short ... we saw each other around university for 4 years, never spoke, then he noticed me at my cousin's wedding last year and he took it from there! Alhamdulillah I never would have thought in a million years that he would be the guy I marry because, well, I'm 5' and he's 6'3" haha We look so funny, awww.

i dump the cake in to a bowl, add frosting, mash it, and refrigerate it first. that way you aren't burning your hand trying to make the balls.
