Re: The Art of Baking
There is a coffee cake recipe on the back of Domino's sugar box that I want to try out. Behind the box recipes almost always come out good .

Re: The Art of Baking
Chocolate Velvet Pie
Estimated Times: Preparation - 15 min | Cooking - 1 min | Cooling Time - 2 hrs refrigerating | Yields - 8 servings
Ingredients
* 1 8-inch (6 oz.) prepared chocolate crumb crust
* 1 3/4 cups (11.5-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Milk Chocolate Morsels
* 1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 cup heavy whipping cream, whipped
* Sweetened whipped cream (optional)
* 1 bar (2 oz. total) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Baking Bars, made into curls
* Chopped nuts (optional)
Directions
MICROWAVE morsels in a medium, uncovered, microwave-safe bowl on MEDIUM-HIGH power for 1 minute; STIR. The morsels may retain some of their original shape. If necessary, microwave at additional 10 to 15-second intervals, stirring just until melted. Cool to room temperature.
BEAT melted chocolate, cream cheese and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl until light in color. Fold in whipped cream. Spoon into crust. Refrigerate until firm. Top with sweetened whip cream, chocolate curls and nuts.
CHOCOLATE CURLS:
Carefully draw a vegetable peeler across a bar of NESTLÉ TOLL HOUSE Semi-Sweet Chocolate. Vary the width of your curls by using different sides of the chocolate bar.

asslaamu alaykum
looks yummy!
i never though of using those tins for baking! soo clever. The only problem i have with the recipes that you post is that i don't understand it. Just a tiny problem. For example, what the heck are chocolate crumb crusts?
Insha Allah I'm going to bake some scones and marble cake this week

So, I made this last weekend and my stinky siblings said the frosting was too sweet . Frosting is supposed to be sweet! But I think the recipe needed some tweaking because the cake wasn't as moist as I had wanted.

pie was very good... i definitely need to buy an electric mixer though... it took forever to whip the heavy whipping cream BY HAND ... my hands almost fell off.
ummm for cake balls, its just one box of cake mix, one can of frosting, and some baker's coating chocolate... you bake the cake, crumble it and mix the frosting in, roll into balls and let it sit in the fridge overnight... then melt the chocolate and coat the cake balls with it. play around with the technique and see what works best for you with the coating.. some people use toothpicks, others use forks.. and then if you wanted, you could go the extra step and drizzle a different kind of chocolate on top to make it prettier
last time i made it, i used strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting and milk chocolate coating.. tasted like chocolate covered strawberries
