it says each block should weigh 8ounces...which means 900 grams. ok, i need to go t the shops, i hate doing this half way through baking/cooking!

I made the oreo cake, but i think i made it too big. Like, people would have to have thin slices of the stuff cos it's so big it'd be sickly. Don't think i'll make it again, though I'm yet to taste it...so don't know how I can take it to someone's house without tasting it?! Maybe I just don't like it now because I'm been smelling it all day. I talk too much.

So I tweaked my biscotti recipe a bit, I used slivered almonds which saves a lot of time and tastes the same as blanched almonds, and I didn't toast them. Also I used regular size choc chips instead of mini, and it was yummy with larger chocolate chunks.
and I made some with almonds and dried cranberries, not bad.

Did you end up finding the sour cream, or did you use yogurt?

I tried to teach my sister how to bake once (she's 14). I told her to measure out the baking soda which I think said 1 1/2 tsp. She mistook it for 1 1/2 cups. She comes up to me with this big bowl of baking soda and says, "Now what do I do?  ". I'm the cooker/baker and she's the cleaner, we'll just stick to that.

found the sour cream alhamdulilah. The cake was grossssss though  I'm going to try and make a marble cake, tho i think im better at cooking than baking. I plan to change that though as i once made a delicious coffee cake

I think it has a lot to do with the recipe you use. Maybe you can ask around and see if anyone has a good recipe of what you want to make. Or you can go to popular sites that have reviews so you know if the recipe is good or not. A lot of the reviewers will say whats wrong with the original recipes and how they tweaked it to make it better. I love allrecipes.com, and recipezaar.com is good too
