Default UCAS / Applying to Uni Horror Stories

For everyone who is applying or have applied to uni...share your horror stories.

My friends and I have come out the other side of UCAS* scarred. What have everyone's experiences been with the whole porcess as well as interviews and the like?

*UCAS is the UK uni applications body

I don't like to think about it.

Seriously though, I hate the UCAS process. I've had to go through it for the second time this year. InshAllah I won't have to go through it again next year.

Yeah, they're highly disorganised, get back to you after waiting a lifetime and charge you 15 quid to apply. But if you think they're bad, you haven't met the Student Loans people. I've had to argue with them to fund my education, they were expecting me to pay it. God knows how, taking out a billion credt cards i think

I've just applied for a student loan online, and it is really confusing, especially if you're getting it means tested cos parents have to be registered, and blah...Why can't they make it simple?! Anyway, uni costs way to much

I didn't apply online, i did it all the paper way...handed the form to my parents and said "do it."
They did.

It is really confusing but unfortunately before they hand out the money they want to know every inch of information regarding your parents income. The best thing to do is find out how much your entitled to according to the law and fight to get it!

Its very annoying...and in some parts it can be quite unfair...especially if your parents earn over the amount which entitles you for a grant, but after factoring out staff wages and taxes (for example) they earn way under

They also don't take into account how many children your parents have and whether they're going to uni as well.
