official 'i'm doing terrible in school' thread
sooooooo, i'm doing pretty bad in school. given the records ive set for myself in the past. i used to be on those presidents lists and junk all the time. or the deans list...ok whichever list is the better one.. i was on that. no seriously, i was.
but gone are those days. i'm just gonna hope my parents dont find out...that'll be awful. and that i can end up with at least semi decent grades this semester. i mean i dont think ill fail any classes or anything..hopefully not anyway but i'm worried cuz that means i wont be able to get scholarships and whatever junk as easily, if at all...sigh
anyway hopefully there're some people in the same boat as me here, or ill feel like an idiot. i'm definitely not DUMB, but this is my first semester working so much and going to school at the same time..so ive just been so lazy when it comes to doing my assignments on time..and attendance wise ive been pretty bad too....and you would think attendance doesnt matter in a 400 ppl lecture hall. WRONG. who the HELL invented CPS units? you know those remote control things that students need..they link to your professors student database thingy when you're in class, so they can keep track of your attendance? yeah, those are evil. cuz a lot of my professors totally keep track of attendance in all the six 400 people classes they're teaching..i'm like, lame..if it wasnt so easy they prolly wouldnt..and our grades wouldnt get messed up. WHO GIVES POINTS FOR ATTENDANCE??
but they gotta do what they gotta do.
ok end rant. MORAL OF THE STORY: sally needs to quit working. sooooo iA no more after summer. just school, school, and school. the end.

Re: official 'i'm doing terrible in school' thread
I used to be at the bottom of my classes constantly in my early years. Basically I've almost flunked the classes I've hated and dazzled teachers with my brilliance in classes I've liked.
Nowadays I just take the classes I like and get straight As as a result

Re: official 'i'm doing terrible in school' thread
just reduce the amount of time you spend posting on islamica, surfing the web, and chatting with people and you should be able to get back on track ia
college requires no more than 60 minutes of studying per day as a maintenance level, for up to 18 credits.
anyway, no comment on my own performance at school

Great advice right there. Worked well for me. (I'm surfing islamica at the moment because it's spring break for me, and I'm still burnt out from intense studying for a bacteriology test)

Re: official 'i'm doing terrible in school' thread
Starting up classes again in late May, iA.
I hate doing homework, it's literally the single factor that prevented me from being an honor student all the way through high school and college, and I don't think it'll be any better this time around.
I need to go to a hypnotist or something to make me think homework is the most exciting activity in the world, and make me disappointed when I've finished it and double-checked all my work.

Yea one time I remember I got like an 81 in a stupid hard science class and I came home all excited and showed my dad. My dads like... But why? Then my mom called and he was telling my mom how I did poorly on my exam.

Why? Are you sure you'd go back to it later?

I'm not quite sure. I dont have any solid reason to, which is why I havent voiced it to my family. They would have a fit. But I'd definitely go back though if I did something so irrational as to drop out midway (irrational for me anyway).
I hope its some kind of phase, and I get through it. Allahu Alim.

Re: official 'i'm doing terrible in school' thread
I am not doing well either, and I am 25 years old and still undergraduate.
Wallahi I will be following bro Mossad's advice from this moment on and won't return to post on Islamica before about three months from now. That means I won't return before 4th July 2008. If I do return and post, call me a monkey.

Yeah, maybe you're just not feeling it now. If you can, try to stay though because it's hard to go back once you get out of the groove.

Hi, chem is driving me crazy! and I'm letting it! Like when I'm lying in bed, just about to drift off to sleep, I think of all things chem, and relate everything to chem. Thinking; mm, those were some good brownies I baked, I wonder what kind of reaction took place between the flour and baking soda? the butter and sugar? the formula for sugar is C6H12O6 hmm...or it's crazy when I repeat formulas for solutions and such, just because I like how they make sense in coming together . Then, I sleep like a baby .
Alas, I wish I were doing better in my classes. Perhaps I should've gone to class today...naaah, I wanna rebel .
