Re: your kids will attend..
I like the idea of trying all the different types of school's and seeing which one most benefits my child ( in the future someday)

it kind of does.
your child is in school for 8+ hours a day, 5 days a week starting from the very ripe age of 4-5 years when the mind is extremely maleable and highly inquisitive. until let's say 18 years of age when the mind is still expanding and discovering things, etc.
there is nothing wrong with satisfying a childs curiosity properly, or exposing them to the world. i'm not really into sheltering the kid by any means. but it really bothers me that the majority of the time during the extra impressionable stage is spent around hundreds of other young kids also looking for the same answers. there's just something not right about that.

So then what do you plan on doing when it's time to send your children to college? I would argue that there's a heck of a lot more "unbelievable stuff" taking place on any college campus than there is in your average public high school.
Perhaps Muslims should start work on an Islamic Bob Jones University.

Whoever says that Islamic schools are as bad fitnah-wise as a public high school is an exaggerator. It's simply not true. Stop the exaggeration, please. Most of the people who've spent their lives in Islamic schools will say 'it's just as bad as public schools' or 'you dont know what goes on in so-called islamic schools
|
I don't know about anywhere else but the Full time islamic schools here are mostly full of kids who's parents were scared to death of how their kids were turning out. Combining all the really bad muslim kids and putting em in the same environment doesn't always turn out as one hoped. I get shivers just remembering some of the stuff that went on right outside of the prayer area!

Re: western public schools and muslims?
I don't think you can expect kids to be 'Islamic' just because you shoved them in an Islamic school or expect they'll turn out wrong just because they were sent to a public school. It makes more sense to expose them to different environments than to cage them into just one.
I personally don't agree with the Islamic schools where I live, because most of the girls are exposed to a very narrow minded environment and as soon as they leave school, they see how much there is to the 'real world' and don't even take religion seriously anymore. It's a huge generalisation, but I've seen it a lot.
I dunno what I'd do with my own kids, but I do know that I will be more there for them when they're 'growing up' than my family were for me.

apparently, on the eve of his 18th bday, the child becomes an adult over night - at least according to the government. so yea, after that you can send him anywhere.
anyways, people tend to forget that not everyone matures at the same age.

Re: western public schools and muslims?
I found the work place to be more threatening than public schools. You have co-workers of all ages and backgrounds (some of whom going to public schools - others never attended.... oh no!!!!!!!!).
not to mention the customers....
Would you send a 17 year old to work?

Did I turn out okay??? I'm not sure
Working was great. It meant I had my own money for clothes and books. Okay, I didn't get to have as much fun as the other kids, but hey, I had more money than they did

Re: western public schools and muslims?
public school probably. it'll toughen them up islamically, if you teach them how NOT to follow the crowd, and be their own person. a crucial lesson in life especially in the west
