My goodness. I can't believe this. I mean, I can believe it exists, but I can't believe anyone would go through with it. I don't blame the girls for getting it done, I blame the people (I can't say they're men, sorry) who impose it on the girls they marry.

i dont think shotgun is saying its not the women's fault, because they are the ones who slept around after all, but more like that men/society truly believe that if the hymen is broken, it automatically means you are not a virgin, they do not understand that it could be broken through other means

This surgery doesn't magically go back in time and say "Oh! You never had sex with anyone!" All it does is reattach a piece of skin that may not even have broken through intercourse in the first place. It's so short sighted it's staggering. |

yea unfortunely in some parts of the muslim world, (mostly village like places) this practice is done....
and sometimes it goes as far as the men taking the stained sheet and dancing with it in the wedding....

Huh...? Are you sure about this? I think you are just giving fuel to Islamaphobes. If that stuff happens, it happens very rarely and in isolated parts of the world, and it has nothing to do with the "muslim world."
