I'm surprised that you of all people would find this thread to be appropriate given that you've spoken out against racist tendencies of Islamicans in the past.
I don't understand why its "comical" or justifiable to make fun of white people. As an American Muslim, I do not appreciate it when my countrymen make stereotypes of me as a Muslim nor do I appreciate it when overseas Muslims make stereotypes of Americans. It only follows that we should treat others that we would expect to be treated. This means that we do not generalize about white people, African Americans, Latinos, Asians, or anyone else.
In terms of the quirky posts, its not directed at a person but consists of inside jokes between close friends. There's no racism involved. Nor was anyone joking about having sex with a goat or a teddy bear or anything like that. Its making fun of the concept of marriage in Muslim cultures. There's no prurient emotion being invoked, if you interpreted it sexually, then thats a matter of your perspective. No one else thought of it that way. |

There are a bunch of hypocrites here. Toilet humor is acceptable on an Islamic forum. Making fun of culture is acceptable. Making fun of Shias is acceptable. Making fun of certain posters is acceptable. But a person, a half black person who makes an observation about a certain "n-word" being used is just unacceptable. Justify toilet humor and all that other crap however you like. It too is inappropriate. Would you joke like that in front of a respectable scholar? I highly doubt it. What I said was no joke, but was an observation made over the years of being raised by both white and black people. All those up in arms need to get over themselves and look in the mirror before pointing the finger at what they deem to be "inappropriate" How self righteous can you get?

I'm white. The whitest of white. "My ancestors owned slaves" white. I am not offended by stuffwhitepeoplelike.wordpress.com. It serves mainly to mock the pretensions of upper-middle class white liberals. The sort of people that listen to NPR and enjoy the music of Radiohead.
